Timothée Chalamet and Adam Sandler took turns showing their skills over a 3v3 pickup game in Soho Thursday as fans across the internet marveled at the unusual pairing.

Sandler, staying true to his comedic roots, sported a gray t-shirt with black print that reads “Let me ask my wife.”

Chalamet, who is set to star in “Wonka” this year, sported a gray tee with navy blue basketball shorts and aquamarine athletic shoes.

The odd pair first acted together in the 2014 film “Men, Women, & Children” which starred Sandler as a suburbanite parent and a group of teens that attempted to navigate the internet’s impact on their personal lives.

Fans took to Twitter as they were astounded by the unusual duo.

“How are new yorkers alive?? you’re telling me they can randomly look to their left and see the specimen that is timothée chalamet PLAYING BASKETBALL???? with adam sandler!!!!!,” one commenter said.

One fan spotted a Footlocker bag that seemingly belonged to Chalamet, saying “He literally bought athletic shoes and new socks at Footlocker before going to meet up w adam sandler. like king of doing everything late always”

“I’m going to pretend this is a cut scene from uncut gems to live out my timothée safdie directed fantasy,” another commenter said.

Despite not appearing onscreen together since, they have both publicly praised each other, with Sandler often implying that his two daughters, Sunny and Sadie, are huge fans of the young star.

When accepting a Gotham award in 2022, Sandler recounted his daughters’ obsession, saying  “I don’t want to spend the whole night that’s supposed to be about me and my greatness listening to you two newly pubertized buffoons screaming, ‘Where is Timothée Chalamet and how can we legally squeeze that fine little Jewish ass of his?”

Chalamet has also praised Sandler’s work, albeit in a more professional fashion, complimenting the actor’s range in a 2019 essay he wrote for Variety.

“Adam Sandler delivers a truly spectacular performance on the complete opposite end of the passive intropath he played in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Punch Drunk Love,” said Chalamet, referring to Sandler’s standout role in the hit 2019 film “Uncut Gems.”
