An American woman living in Britain has candidly revealed the biggest differences she has noticed since relocating.

Andrea Celeste, originally from California, has shared a series of clips on TikTok to expose ‘the things that are socially acceptable in England which would confuse Americans.’

Her first video tackled a selection of the dos and don’ts she has encountered during her eight years in London – as well as passing comment on some of the weirder delicacies.

And she has since created a whole host of other videos which have been flooded with praise from other users who have thanked her for giving such a light-hearted insight.

In her first clip in the series, which has so far been viewed more than 658,000 times, Andrea speaks directly to camera.

She launches straight into her insight which begins: ‘Service workers like cashiers and retail workers don’t typically start conversations with people to the extent that they do in America.

‘The more outside of London you go, the more chance there would be of that happening but definitely not like in America.’

Andrea then fires off another series of observations: ‘People walking down the streets with an [alcoholic] drink in hand is actually illegal in the US. I think except for some part of Las Vegas.

‘Jaywalking everywhere. Again illegal in the US but not in the UK.’

Turning her attention to the food served in the UK, she said: ‘Black pudding which is dried pig’s blood that tastes amazing but I’ve freaked out my American friends saying that though.’

She continued to address the recent discussion around beans on toast which, at the time, left Americans ‘mortified.’

Andrea revealed: ‘To be fair, it looks terrible in the photos but it is actually really good snack during university when you are trying to save money.’

The social media star, who has garnered more than 184,000 followers on the video-sharing platform, has since created a further 14 installments

The first video was met with widespread praise from other users who thanked her for highlighting the differences.

And the positive feedback spurred Andrea to turn the clip into an ongoing series.

The social media star, who has garnered more than 184,000 followers on the video-sharing platform due to her efforts, has since created a further 14 installments.

Other issues she has raised about the UK is that ‘people do not smile in ID photos,’ ‘police do not routinely carry firearms’ and that ‘checks are basically obsolete.’
