Austin Butler’s fame is only rising, which means – naturally – plenty of his fans are going to be interested in what he gets up to off-camera, especially when it comes to his love life.
While we know the 31 year old has been loved up with supermodel girlfriend Kaia Gerber and daughter of OG supermodel, Cindy Crawford for a decent amount of time now, what else do we know about his past relationships?
From spending over 8 years with a High School Musical alumni to briefly dating a fellow Elvis cast member, here’s everything you need to know about Austin Butler’s relationship history.
Vanessa Hudgens
From 2011 to 2020, Austin and Vanessa Hudgens were in a solid relationship. Around that time, (before he landed his breakout role in Elvis) he was mostly known for his part in The Carrie Diaries – the Sex and the City prequel series, Zoey 101 (for the Nickelodeon kids), and for being with HSM star, Vanessa.
The couple were regularly spotted at Coachella music festival in California, where Vanessa always rocked the festival boho vibes, and the pair never shied away from the camera, especially when it came to PDA.
Over the years, there were plenty of romantic IG photos accompanied by lovey-dovey captions, most notably, when V referred to Austin as the “love of [her] life” in a birthday post to him back in 2014.
Or, when Austin called his then-girlfriend his “rock” at the 2019 The Dead Don’t Die premiere.
Unfortunately for fans of the two at that time, they decided to call it a day in early 2020, just one month before their 9 year anniversary.
While neither have addressed the break-up publicly, sources have said it was a mutual decision sparked mainly by their busy schedules. Although it seems Vanessa has also found happiness again, after recently announcing her engagement to partner Cole Tucker.
Olivia DeJonge
Back in 2020 during Elvis filming in Australia, it was rumoured that Austin and his co-star, Olivia DeJonge had become close. Between January and November of that year, the two were spotted enjoying romantic strolls along the beach and cosy dinners together Down Under.
DeJonge, 24, who coincidentally plays Priscilla Presley, his on-screen wife in the film, is also known for her roles in The Society and The Staircase.
However, once filming wrapped up, the pair were not spotted together much, which suggests it was just a casual thing at the time.
Lily-Rose Depp
2021 saw romance speculation between Austin and Lily-Rose Depp. The French-American actress and model, who is the daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, was papped sharing a more-than-friends hug with the star outside of a London restaurant in August of the same year.
However, the pair seemingly didn’t take things any further, as the 23 year old hasn’t been seen with him since.
Kaia Gerber
Fast-forward to 2023, and the 31 year old is all pretty serious with his model girlfriend, Kaia Gerber.
The 21 year old – who has most notably been linked to serial-dater Pete Davidson and Euphoria star Jacob Elordi – first sparked relationship rumours with Austin back in December 2021.
The two were spotted attending a yoga class in LA, followed by the pair spending some quality time together over the Christmas period.
Since then, they’ve gone from strength to strength, and even made their red carpet debut as a couple at W Magazine's annual Best Performances party ahead of the Oscars.
They then attended the Met Gala, opting to walk the carpet separately, but meeting for a sweet snap at the top of the classic Metropolitan Museum of Art staircase.
In May of 2022, Kaia also attended the 75th Cannes Film Festival to support Austin during the Elvis premiere. The couple were papped sharing some adorable moments, including a romantic kiss.
And after being spotted together running errands ahead of Austin’s SNL hosting duties in December, it seems the couple are still going strong.
