Best takeaways in the country revealed: Uber Eats share the top rated restaurants in every region of the UK and Ireland including burger, burrito and jerk chicken shops – so is your favourite on the list?

A jerk chicken shop, a burger bar and a Mexican restaurant are among the finalist of the the Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year Awards.

National finalists for have been announced, unveiling the winning restaurants from each region who will compete in the hopes of winning a cut of the £200,000 prize money to invest in their business.

The ten top restaurants will go head to head to win the coveted Restaurant of the Year Title, with the finalists having their food judged by Bake Off’s Prue Leith and Chef Monica Galetti, before the winner is announced in a star studded ceremony.

Spanning over 35 towns and cities, and representing 33 different types of cuisine, the awards celebrate the best restaurants in each region and highlights the diversity of the industry.

This year, the judging panel will also include content creator Seema Pankhania, formerly of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants and Mob Kitchen, as well as Lorraine Copes, Founder and CEO at Be Inclusive Hospitality.

Together, they will be determining the winner of various categories including the coveted ‘Restaurant of The Year’ award.

In London, Broritto’s has been named the best.

The Mexican-inspired kitchen was set up in 2020 by two friends who had been ‘experimenting in their uni kitchen’ and ‘watching burrito wrapping tutotials online’.

 Their menu includes the likes of Beef Birria Tacos, Loaded Fries, a Cauli Popper Broritto and Classic Churros.

Meanwhile, the best takeaway in the south east, is, accoridng to Uber Eats, Natty’s Jerk Kitchen.

The restaurant serves fried jerk burger, rice and peas, corn on the cob and plantain among thoses.

In the North East, the prize goes to Newcastle’s Brack Burger. These include the BBQ Boss burger, the Halloumi Heaven burger and the a bacon double burger served with peanut butter.

Being slightly more conscious in the midlands, Lyfbar in Telford took the top prize.

The health conscious eatery serves the likes of Grass Fed Flank Steak served with rice and veggies. Founded by partners Alex Archibald & Bethany Tomlinson, who believe healthy food should fill your stomach without emptying your wallet.

Meanwhile, the top restaurants in the south west went to Sandwich Sandwich in Bristol – which, surprisingly, sells sandwiches. 

The shop opened in 2010 as Cothan Sandwich Co before rebranding to Sandwich Sandwich two years later. 

Scotland’s best takeaway went to a pizzeria – Big Manny’s in Aberdeen.

The restaurant serves 18″ NYC-style pizza, with options including Flamin’ Hot Cheetos & Chicken, The Italian style-Tony Soprano and Vegan She Ain’t No Chick.

Meanwhile a burger joint in Limerick was named the best in Ireland – with Locke Burger in Limerick picking up the prize.

In Northern Ireland, the prize went to Belfast’s Seed, a breakfast bar.

Picnic, in Liverpool, serving sandwiches and juices got the top prize in the north west while a humble local cafe was named the best in Wales.

Haystack Cafe in Swansea took the prize for their delicious brunch menu.
