AsBig Brother getsset to make its return to our screen this autumn,a whole new host of housemates will be hoping to make memories for life as they enter the iconic Big Brother house.

Having first hit our TV screens in 2000, the reality show saw the likes ofAlison Hammond, Jade Goody andAdele Roberts become household names -all of which appeared in the 2002 series. And also in that same series was contestant Alex Sibley, who became known for singing That’s The Way (I Like It) by KC and the Sunshine Band into a mirror while in the house.

Proving popular with the public, Alex left Big Brother in third place after securing 27 per cent of the vote. After his time on the show, Alex did some TV presenting, secured modelling contracts and appeared on a celebrity Christmas special of Blind Date.

Having made a name for himself on the show for his cleanliness, Alex even appeared in an advert for Domestos which poked fun at his time on Big Brother.

Sadly, in 2004 Alex, 44, was involved in a car accident which saw a 63 year old lose his life. “A major thing happened in my life. A guy ran into the side of my car and died from his injuries,” Alex toldThe Sun during an interview in 2020.

In 2006, the case was dropped because of insufficient evidence and Alex has always denied driving dangerously.

These days, Alex largely lives away from the spotlight and is a doting dad to four young children who he shares with his wife.

On Instagram, the TV personality, who now works in affordable housing, is often seen gushing over his loved ones and shares snaps from various family outings including their holidays and action filled adventures.

Meanwhile, Alex recently took to Instagram to share a snippet of himself on Big Brother alongside the caption “20 years ago”.

His followers showed their support of the star, with one writing: “You were my favourite. And this was the best of Big Brother. For me anyway!”.

Alex has previously expressed his desire to go on the ITV show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and has called it a “bucket list” dream of his.

“For the last four or five years I’ve been messaging the producers of I’m A Celebrity,” he told The Sun. “That’s the only thing I’d like to do for my bucket list.”
