Weddings are pretty expensive dos so it's no surprise that when it comes to presents – most newlyweds say they'd prefer the cash.
But one bride has left people reeling after she offered her guests better food if they were willing to give a bigger cash gift, and there was also a "premium" option for those who were willing to splurge over £2,000 on the couple.
After fuelling backlash on Facebook, a photo of the tiered menu was later shared on Reddit's wedding shaming forum where users dubbed the American couple as "tacky."

The post said that guests who offered a "loving gift" of up to £190 could have either roast chicken or swordfish for their main meal.
Meanwhile, there was a "silver" category available for those who splashed out £385 on the couple, and these generous guests could pick from a choice of sliced steak or poached salmon.
If you wanted to select from the "golden" tier you had to be willing to gift between £386 and £770 to the couple and – if you were willing to cough up the cash – you'd have the luxury of enjoying a filet mignon or lobster tail on the big day.
But it didn't end there as there was also a "platinum" option available for guests who were willing to splurge over £2,000 on the couple.
To show their gratitude the couple were willing to provide such generous guests with a "souvenir champagne goblet" to honour the day.
And if you're a vegetarian – it wouldn't have been the joyous occasion that you'd hoped for – as meat-free meals were only up for grabs for those in the top tier.
As you can imagine the idea didn't go down well with any of the guests who claimed the entire spectacle was a "joke" – and Reddit users were quick to chirp in on the scenario too.
One wrote: "These people have lost their damn minds."
Another said: "Everybody should just say their gift was over $1k, eat the 2lb of lobster, and laugh thinking about the couple opening their $40 toaster later."
