The Princess of Wales and her daughter Princess Charlotte looked incredible in matching Alexander McQueen coronation dresses at Westminster Abbey.
The young princess, who turned eight this week, wore an Alexander McQueen dress and cape in ivory silk crepe with ivory stitch embroidery featuring rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock motifs, to signify the four nations.
While her mum Kate also looked elegant in a similar stunning ivory silk crepe gown, which featured silver bullion and thread work embroidery featuring rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock motifs also to represent each of the four nations.
Instead of a tiara, the mother and daughter duo wore matching Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen Headpiece with silver bullion, crystal and silver thread work three-dimensional leaf embroidery.
While the pair completed their ensembles with white shoes and swept their locks back into a chic updo for the historical occasion.

In a touching nod to her late mother-in-law, the Princess wore a set of Diana’s pearl and diamond earrings for the occasion.
The Princess’ has long chosen to wear Alexander McQueen for significant moments in her life.
She worn the fashion brand on numerous occasions, most notably choosing its creative director Sarah Burton to design her wedding dress.
The four flowers of the home nations – English rose, Scottish thistle, Welsh daffodil and Irish shamrock – were embroidered onto the dress.
Kate donned pearl earrings that were gifted to Diana before her wedding to Prince Charles in 1981.
The mother-of-three previously wore the jewellery, left to William and Harry, at the BAFTAs in 2019. They feature a double curve of various cuts of diamond, with a hanging pearl.

Meanwhile, her younger brother Louis – who turned five on St George’s Day on April 23rd – looked regal in a bespoke outfit.
For the historic occasion, the young Prince is wearing an outfit made by Savile Row tailors Dege and Skinner which consists of a Hainsworth Garter Blue Doeskin Tunic with specially designed lace work embellishment to the collar, cuffs and fronts. The leg garment is black complete with Garter Blue stripe.
All eyes will be on Louis; last year Louis was the standout star of his great-grandmother’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, entertaining the crowds with his antics on the Buckingham Palace balcony and in the audience at the Jubilee pageant.
His parents aware of the responsibility on his young shoulders, it is thought that Prince Louis won’t attend tomorrow’s concert in Windsor.
The youngsters will reunite for the grand carriage procession back to Buckingham Palace after witnessing King Charles being crowned at the Abbey.

Elsewhere the cheeky prince looked around the Abbey and pointed at items as he sat next to his older sister Princess Charlotte during the opening moments of the historic service

In the first carriage behind them will be the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with George, Charlotte and Louis.
It will be the biggest public test for the three siblings, who are becoming increasingly confident under the eyes of the watching world.

The monarch had been heir since the age of three, and is now ready to finally embrace his day of destiny with the woman he loves by his side. VIP guests queued for a mile from the Abbey from 6am to get one of the prime 2,300 seats inside.
Charles will be crowned in a Christian ceremony that dates back for 1,000 years on a day dripping with glorious displays of pageantry. It will also shine a spotlight on Britain’s place on the world stage.
His family, including Prince Andrew and Princess Anne, enjoyed a dinner at Mayfair club Oswald’s last night. Mike and Zara Tindall were out until 2am. Prince Harry flew in from Los Angeles yesterday for his 24-hour trip. It emerged last night he has been relegated to the third row in the Abbey with other non-working royals.
Around 100million are watching on TV around the globe, with around two million people – from all corners of the UK, Commonwealth and the world – in London for the historic event.
Guests of the King started arriving at the Abbey from 7am – four hours before the ceremony. Some 100 heads of state are in London, with representatives from 203 countries are attending.
