Remember that prices can change all the time, especially at this time of year, so it is best to do your own research.

You can use comparison sites such as Trolley.co.uk to check the online prices of items across different supermarkets.

We did our price checking online, but you might be able to get better deals in the actual store.

Most supermarket websites have a store locator where you can find your nearest if you are unsure.

Here is a list of the best deals we found on mince pies including who is the cheapest.

Tesco

Tesco's festive option is the Vineyards Mulled wine priced at £3 for a 75cl bottle.

It is described as "sweet and fruity with subtle spicy flavours".

Tesco recommends warming slowly in a saucepan over a gentle heat and ensuring you do not boil as this will spoil the flavours.

Morrisons

Morrisons Winter Warmer mulled wine is the cheapest around at the moment.

It costs just £2.50 for a 75cl bottle on Trolley.co.uk and the Morrisons website.

The wine is described on the website as having a "smooth texture" and being blended with the finest ingredients.

Sainsbury's

Sainsbury's is getting in the festive spirit with their £3.50 bottle of mulled wine.

The label is definitely an eye-catcher and it is described as "a warming aromatic wine spiced with cinnamon, cloves and ginger."

This was the most expensive compared to the other supermarkets.

Aldi

If you are looking to try a new flavour in mulled wine this year Aldi has a mince pie and Jamaican rum flavour priced at £2.89 for a 75cl bottle.

The discounter also has gingerbread flavour for the same price and a larger 1ltr bottle of traditional Gluhwein for £5.99.

You cannot buy online from Aldi so you will need to pop down to your local store if you want to get your hands on this one.

Lidl

Baywood mulled wine is priced at £2.69 on the Lidl website, and makes it the second cheapest next to Morrisons.

It is only available to purchase in-store so as with Aldi you will need to go to your local supermarket if you want to pick up a bottle of Lidl's mulled wine.

Lidl also has a 1ltr bottle of Christkindl Gluhwein for £5.99

Iceland

Iceland's Harvest Fruits mulled wine has a four out of five-star review on its website.

It is priced at £3.45 so it was the second most expensive compared to other supermarkets at the time we checked.

You can buy online from Iceland but do take into consideration delivery costs.

As well as the cheapest deal we can also reveal which supermarket mulled wine won in our taste test.

Meanwhile, one Christmas fan put 134 mince pies to the test to see which one fared best.

Also, if you are counting the days till December we tested chocolate advent calenders and one gives an extra heartwarming feature that is great for kids.
