The final day of Henley’s Royal Regatta kicked off today, with rowing fans heading to riverside to watch the action – and show off some fashion.

While the rowers were hard at work on the Thames, glamorous revellers were busy flexing their fashion muscles on the river bank. 

The rowing event, which was established in 1839, takes place every year and sees teams compete in more than 300 races along the river. 

Rowing fans were dressed to the nines to watch all the action unfold, donning summery frocks and smart blazers amid the July sun.

While the dress code was changed last year so that women could wear trousers, many still opted to sport dresses today. However, many women sported smart blazers 

Last year, it was revealed women would be allowed to wear trousers to the Henley Royal Regatta for the first time since it was established in 1839. 

However, many still sported dresses this year, opting for colourful floral patterns and stripes.

And many women decided to don smart blazers for today’s event, with sharp lapels and statement lining. 

The men rivalled the girls today with bold colours and printed blazers, ranging from maroon and and navy stripes to sharp grey.

The regatta will see national clubs from up and down the country vying for glory on the emerald Thames in races scheduled until Sunday.

The popular sporting event, which was established in 1839, comes hand-in-hand with day of picnics and drinking.

The Henley Royal Regatta attracts thousands of visitors over the course of the five-day event.

Teams compete in over 300 races of an international standard on the Thames, which can include Olympic rowers as well as crews new to the event.

It was first staged in 1839 and has been held annually every year since, except during the two World Wars and 2020 due to Covid-19.

Hats of all shapes and sizes. Festival goers found their best summer straw hats for today’s events, ranging from classic styles to a modern bucket hat 

For some, the regatta seemed to be a fun day out to spend with loved ones and friends, with many coming as couples or in groups

Some came dressed for colder weather, bringing coats and scarves in case it got chilly on the banks of the river
