Life is never as perfect as influencers will have you believe from their sparkling social media accounts.

And this rings true for successful OnlyFans models – despite the pompous photos boasting of new properties, flashy cars and lavish holidays.

The benefits to adult modelling on raunchy sites are well-documented but the consequences of posting racy images on the internet can be devastating.

Below, we hear from highly-paid women who have been candid about some of the struggles they have faced over OnlyFans.

Sinister threats

A Scottish woman who earns £13,000 a month on the saucy site was left with “suicidal thoughts” because of rancid abuse.

Anisa was bombarded with death threats and hateful comments such as ones saying she “deserves to die in a gas chamber” after joining the platform to pay off debts.

She told the Daily Record last year: “Sometimes I can't get out of my bed for crying. On social media, it can sometimes feel like the whole world is against you.

"Most days I wake up and there are so many nasty comments on my social media platforms, it's all to do with me choosing to make an income from Only Fans or slagging off the way I look."

Another target for keyboard warriors is one of Britain’s highest earning OnlyFans models, Bonnie Locket, who pockets up to £2million a year flogging sexy snaps.

But her success has resulted in chilling death threats and sick messages advising her to take her own life.

And the Surrey stunner said: “There have been plenty of times where I’ve had to stop filming and ended up crying to my fiancé about it all.

"To get noticed and drive people to my OnlyFans I post fairly provocative stuff but it’s nothing outrageous and it doesn't go against guidelines."

School’s not out

Many people like to leave the school gates for the final time and never look back.

But for some OnlyFans stars, former teachers and classmates have come back to haunt them.

This is the case for Dolly who along with her twin sister Daisy has spent £140,000 on plastic surgeries.

This is because the pair, who sell content together, “hated” how they looked in school.

But Dolly was left with chills when a former teacher subscribed to her explicit page.

She told Daily Star: “He subscribed to my OnlyFans and said ‘oh you’ve grown up to be such a beautiful young woman’. It was really creepy because he knew me as a child.

“I did talk to him and try to get money out of him but then I just ignored him because it was really weird. I told my mum and she said he should be in jail.”

And only last week we reported how a former Tesco worker slammed a “family friend” who maliciously leaked her OnlyFans images to her old school peers.

The 28-year-old, from Norfolk, wrote on Twitter: “As if someone I once considered a friend as well as a family friend subscribed to my OnlyFans and thought it would be great to show my videos to all the people who know me in my home town…. How low do you have to be? Also, if you follow me on here, Then f**k you.”

She added: “Like what did you gain from that? Think it would turn people against me? Quite frankly you’re now on my families hit list.”

Friends forever?

A mum dubbed "Britain’s most famous swinger" lost one of her oldest friends after deciding to make a career from X-rated content.

Vista Wife, from Lincolnshire, told Daily Star: “My best friend, who I’ve known since I was five, decided to stop speaking to me.

“That was very difficult for me to get over. I was geared up for nasty comments from strangers online but not that.”

And another risk associated with steamy shoots is the response of family members.

This was emphasised by Scarlett Jones – whose Catholic parents reacted with disgust after learning she was doing sex work.

She had been studying law at The University of Sheffield when she started making cash from the adult industry.

But her mum and dad refused to attend her graduation ceremony.

She remembered: “My parents were really shocked when they found out and they did not react well.

“They didn’t come and they didn’t speak to me for over half a year. They literally blocked me out of their lives which is insane."

You’re fired

Earlier this month we told you about five women who had lost their jobs because of their OnlyFans exploits.

One case study was an ICU nurse called Allie Rae who wanted to give her three kids a better life.

But her medical career was tarnished after colleagues unearthed her seductive side gig.

The Boston mum told the Daily Beast: “They informed my manager about that and I was called into the office about their social media policy.

"It got uncomfortable, where I felt people were concentrating more on my performance outside of the hospital versus my performance in the hospital.

"I was making more money on OnlyFans than I was as a nurse and was only doing it because I loved it — but once I became 'the girl who does OnlyFans' – it tore me apart.”
