Believe it or not, it’s that time of year again, when your TV screens will be filled with festive commercials as retailers race to the bag the title of best Christmas advert.

And one of the first to be launched is Disney’s – with its heart-warming tribute to sibling bonds that will be sure to get you in the festive spirit.

Disney’s three-minute animated short follows on from 2020 and 2021’s offerings – in which viewers first saw Lola and her granddaughter Nicole bonding over Christmas, before a grown-up Nicole and her children, Max and Ella, welcomed stepfather Mike into their home.

This year’s global ad – which once again supports long-standing partner, Make-A-Wish – welcomes another new addition as it follows youngest child Ella adjusting to the arrival of her newborn sibling.

But upon her mother’s return home with the newborn, Ella is instantly taken with the baby and gifts the soft toy to her new sibling.

The advert is played to the emotive soundtrack A Little More, which is sung by Jessica Darrow, who voiced Luisa Madrigal in Encanto, and was penned exclusively for the production.

This year’s instalment, titled ‘The Gift’, marks the final advert to be released as part of the brand’s festive retail campaign, ‘From Our Family To Yours’, in support of children’s charity Make-A-Wish.

Disney is encouraging fans all over the world to join in and donate to Make-A-Wish and will match all qualifying donations up to $100,000, helping to grant even more wishes.

Disney’s first ever Christmas advert ‘Lola’ was released in 2020; fans were introduced to Nicole and her grandmother, Lola, and watched how their bond deepened as festive traditions were passed down through the generations.

Last year’s sequel, ‘The Stepdad’ followed a grown-up Nicole and her own children, Max and Ella, who welcomed stepfather Mike into their home.

At the heart of the story was a very special storybook that celebrated the magic that small moments like reading together creates for families.

Both the 2020 and 2021 adverts reached over 184million views worldwide combined – and this year, the family prepare for another festive period and the touching arrival of a new baby.
