A mother-of-three has revealed her surprise after her electrician husband got their two daughters ready for school one day – and used zip ties to style their hair.

Chelsea Kunz, 35, from Utah, overslept one day, so her husband Matt, 37, stepped in to get the two young girls ready for school, using zip ties to pin back their blonde locks.

Electrician Matt didn’t want to wake wife Chelsea by going into her bedroom to find the girls’ hair bobbles so made use of the items he had to hand.

He dug in his toolbox and used zip ties on Scout, four, and Hendrix, two, to do their ponytails for school.

When Chelsea woke up she found the situation hilarious, because the zip ties were worked better than expected.

She said: ‘He thought it would make me laugh – and it did. He thought they would be really durable in the hair and they did work out great.’

Matt’s hairstyling morning took place in December 2022 and was short lived as Chelsea changed the girls’ hairstyles before they made it out of the front door for school.

She explained: ‘They did start to slip out a bit and obviously we changed them for normal hair ties before they went to school.

The youngsters and their parents found it hilarious that Matt used his zip ties, in his electrician tool box to style their hair

Chelsea (pictured at the back) explained that the zip ties worked a lot better than she had expected but they did slip out

‘But they gave us all a laugh – the girls especially found it super funny.’

She then went on to explain that her young daughter’s love their father and enjoyed the novelty of him styling their hair.

Two-year-old Hendrix in particular adores her father and will let him style her hair.

Whereas, Chelsea explained, when she picks up the hairbrush, Hendrix hates it, as she is going through a difficult stage and currently has decided to dislike the hairbrush.

Chelsea said: ‘Hendrix is in the phase where she hates a hairbrush when I do it – but she’ll let her dad do anything.’
