Former TOWIE star Frankie Essex gave birth to her twins, who she shares with boyfriend Luke Love, last May. She has since shared updates on settling into life with babies Logan and Luella.
In her exclusive column for OK! , Frankie has discussed a range of topics relating to motherhood – from her first social outing with the twins and a blackout at her home when they were just a few days old, to “feeling more human again” as the babies dropped their dreaded 2am feed.
This weeks she opens up about how both Logan and Luella have caught conjunctivitis and her thoughts on taking part in I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Both Logan and Luella are suffering from conjunctivitis
We had an appointment at the hospital about Logan's eczema flare-up, which went well and he's going be tested for allergies soon to see if he's allergic to the dog. However, the next day both her and Luella woke up with conjunctivitis and it just felt like on thing after another.
I was back on the phone to the GP again but just couldn't get an appointment, so I went to the pharmacy but they wouldn't sell eye-drops over the counter because the twins are under two, which was so annoying because it was obvious that they needed them.
The next day I managed to get a GP appointment and got the eye drops. Logan's conjunctivitis was quite bad and the drops really helped, but Luella would just refuse to let me put them in.
She just wasn't having it, and although she's small she is really strong so was just pushing it away from her eyes. And the next day her eyes were still stuck together and it was just horrible to see so we went back to the GP and they put her on antibiotics – and now it's been clearing up really fast.
Conjunctivitis is just so contagious though so we haven't really done much in the week, we were supposed to have some play dates but obviously those had to be cancelled which was sad.
It's just been such a struggle with them both ill, and I ended up just having to go out to the car and cry for a little bit the other day.
We had brunch with Santa
Luckily just before the twins got sick we went away for a weekend to a hotel in the countryside, which we did last year too, and in the morning there was a brunch with Santa which the twins really loved.
One thing I forgot about going away though is that the twins can struggle to get to sleep. In the evening, me and Luke had a couple of cocktails and then were putting them to bed, but they had other ideas.
Logan eventually settled down but Luella was screaming and crying for ages, I felt so bad for the people in the room next door. Luke ended up falling asleep before Luella, I think she just likes sleeping in her own bed.
The morning was so nice though, and the breakfast was just amazing. And the twins loved seeing Santa, and all the children there got gifts, which seemed to be sorted to different age groups so everyone was happy.
I'd love to go on I'm A Celeb one day
If I was ever asked I'd love to go on the show, although I'd have to say no at the moment because of the babies – I felt so bad for Jamie Lynn Spears and how she clearly missed her children so much.
It would just be a once in a lifetime experience though, and the snakes and things like that wouldn't bother me, as long as there weren't any pigeons.
