THE summer holidays are a lovely time of year to spend with your kids but its also one of the most expensive.

It means that free or cheaper meals are no small thing and could make a big difference to your budget.

If you have multiple kids food can be pretty pricey, especially if you're trying to keep them entertained on the cheap,

Lucky for savvy parents several supermarkets and restaurants are offering deals where 100% or big discounts over the next few weeks.

Whether you're planning a cheap evening out or simply need somewhere to grab lunch when you're out and about there is something for everyone.

Below The Sun has rounded up the full list of shops and restaurants offering free or cheap food this summer holiday.

Asda

Asda has confirmed it will be running its popular £1 kid's meal scheme throughout the summer holidays across all of its 205 cafes.

Kids meals at the supermarket include hot meals such as chicken nuggets, chips and baked beans or jacket potato with cheese, as well as a piece of fruit such as a banana or apple.

It also offers a cold pick and mix selection for £1 which includes a sandwich, a drink, a piece of fruit and a treat item.

Unlike most other restaurants, there is no adult minimum spend to get the £1 kids meal deal at Asda.

Tesco

The Tesco is offering its 'kids eat free' deal to help parents with the cost of feeding from now until the beginning of term.

The ever-popular offer means that when a paying adult presents their Clubcard and spends as little as 60p in one of 310 Tesco cafes across the UK, they will get a free kids meal.

The deal will run on weekdays from July 24 to September 1 in England and Wales, from now to September 1 in Northern Ireland.

And in Scotland, the offer will run from now until August 11.

Brewers Fayre

Two kids can get a free breakfast at any Brewers Fayre restaurant with one full paying adult.

The chain of pub eateries offers an unlimited adult breakfast for £9.99, which allows two kids under 16 to bag an all-you-can-eat breakfast for free – a great bargain.

It's a buffet set up, so you can get as much food as you like from the cooked breakfast or continental breakfast ranges, as well as unlimited drinks.

Dobbies garden centres

For a fun day out, take a trip to your nearest Dobbies garden centre, where kids can eat for free with any adult meal.

The garden centre chain lets offers one free meal with any adult main meal, which costs around £9-£12.

Kids can choose from the breakfast or lunch menu, or they can choose a pick n mix lunch box, and they get a drink with their meal.

The offer is only available at major stores and cannot be used in "Little Dobbies" stores.

There is currently no end date on this offer.

TGI Fridays

If you're looking to get that Friday feeling with the whole family, look no further than TGI Fridays, where you can get a free kids meal with every adult meal this summer.

Your kids can enjoy anything from chicken burgers, hotdogs or chicken tenders with a drink at no extra cost.

The catch is that you have to sign up to TGI Fridays' rewards system, Stripes Rewards.

The scheme is free to join, you just need to sign up online or download the TGI Fridays app.

Morrisons

Morrisons offers one free children's meal with each adult meal over £4.49.

The offer is valid across all of its stores with cafes and is available all day.

Unlike other restaurants, Morrisons' deal is available to youngsters up to 15 years old.

Kids meals include fish fingers and chips, mac and cheese and bangers and mash.

Prezzo

Italian chain Prezzo has a deal with Mumsnet where any paying adult can get a free three course meal for one child under 12.

The offer is valid all day, seven days a week from today until July 23 this year.

All you need to do to claim the deal is order an adult main meal from the restaurant.

You need to let your waiter know you will be using the offer when you order your food.

The offer is valid at all Prezzo restaurants, excluding the following locations:

  • London Glass House Street
  • London St Martins Lane
  • London Northumberland Avenue
  • London Euston
  • Mumbles
  • Cambridge

Hungry Horse

Hungry Horse, owned by Greene King, is running a deal from now to September 3 where a family of four can all eat for just £15.

Over the summer you can get two adult meals and two kid's meals for £15 all day, every day.

To accommodate families of different sizes, it is offering a separate deal where you can get one adult Pub Classic meal and one kids' meal for £10.

There are more than 270 Hungry Horse pubs across the UK, so there's probably one not too far away where you can take the family out for a cheap meal.

Hungry Horse launched an all-new menu on July 11 so be sure to look out for any new items.

Bella Italia

Another Italian chain, Bella Italia, lets kids eat for £1 with the purchase of any adult main meal between 4pm-6pm on Monday-Thursday, as well as Saturdays and Sundays in some locations.

The £1 meal deal includes three courses and a drink and is available for kids up to 11 years old.

Outside of these hours, a three-course meal for kids with a drink is £6.49, or £8.49 for larger portions.

Items on the kids menu include margherita pizza, bolognese pasta and chicken tenders.

There were 76 Bella Italia restaurants across the UK in May.

Ikea

A trip to Ikea is another fun day out for the family.

The Swedish furniture retailer has massive shops with showrooms that can keep you entertained all day.

And at the end you can treat the kids to a meal for just 95p in selected shops this summer.

Youngsters can get pasta with tomato sauce and a soft drink for 95p in some Ikea cafes.

Ikea's Exeter and Belfast stores are running the offer until August 31 and it is available every day from 11am.

Meanwhile, Ikea Bristol is running the event until July 31.

The Real Greek

Chain restaurant Real Greek lets kids eat free on Sundays at all 12 of its London restaurants.

Youngsters under 12 can order anything from the kid's menu – including a drink and ice cream or sorbet – for free when any adult spends £10 or more.

Kids can choose between a meze selection or a souvlaki wrap for their main.

The meze selection includes three items such as flatbread, halloumi or houmous.

Bills

Savvy parents can also head to their nearest Bills restaurant for free food for their kids this summer.

Two kids eat free all day from July 24 until September 1 when one adult orders any main dish.

It's important to note though that this does not include Saturdays and Sundays.

Marks and Spencer

M&S Café has announced the Kids Eat Free offer is back this summer.

Plus even the popular Percy Pig and Colin the Caterpillar Slushee are now included as the drink option.

The offer is running from July 24 and September 1 in England and Wales.

While it is live now in Scotland until August 18 and Northern Ireland until September 1 – weekends are not included.

Kids can enjoy a £4 Kids Munch Menu on M&S every time you spend £5 or more in the café.
