A new raunchy content creator is rivalling some of the biggest adult stars — but there's something very different about her.

Emily Pellegrini has raked in more than 80,000 followers on Instagram and has recently seen huge financial success on Fanvue, a subscription platform similar to OnlyFans. The adult model has made $9,688 in the last six weeks alone from her racy pay-per-view content, tips from her devoted fans and subscriptions to her X-rated profile.

Emily regularly posts sultry pictures of herself posing in lingerie — leaving her besotted followers gushing over how "totally gorgeous" she is. But it might come as a surprise to find out she's not real.

While the adult star posts sexy snaps and even racy videos of herself just like other influencers — she's been made using AI. As the advancing tech becomes increasingly ingrained in everyday life, it appears it's also taking over the porn industry, with Emily being among a handful of other AI-generated adult stars who are already making huge amounts of money by selling explicit content.

While OnlyFans is the most popular subscription platform for adult content, it only allows verified creators to post content enhanced or modified with AI and AI characters who don't exist as a real person are banned on the platform. In comparison, Fanvue is betting on AI as the future of porn and boasts about being the only AI subscription platform out there.

Founder and CEO Will Monange believes AI influencers will "thrive" and soon be just as widespread as human creators, including those who make adult content. "What AI is doing now is it's allowing people to be creative, but they don't have to be the face of that creation," Will told Business Insider.

He added: "Why does their audience want to interact and engage with them? Fundamentally, behind that engagement is just a creative person who is expressing themselves and knows how to do that. Whether it's a person that sits as the face of that, or whether it's a virtual creator, the fundamental there is still very much similar."

The platform is so confident in the future of AI creators that the team is even working to introduce a host of new features dubbed "Fanvue AI", which includes an AI message generator designed to respond as the creator would as well as a tool to clone the creator's voice to produce AI audio notes. The company claims their AI tools are constantly improving based on user feedback and they even plan on developing customised "creator coaches" by early 2024.

But while Will believes AI creators can be just as successful, he insists they won't replace humans. For now, he claims AI will be "more so a tool" or "an extension of who we are and what we do".

Emily usually charges a $9-a-month subscription fee for access to her content and her creator said she currently has around 100 fans who subscribe. Her bio on the subscription site reads: "Welcome to my world of electrifying allure and unapologetic adventure.

"Let's create moments that tingle your senses and bring out your wild side. I'm here to break boundaries and ignite your senses! Exploring the world of passion, confidence, and allure, one bold step at a time."

But while she's been financially successful, Emily's creator, who wishes to remain anonymous, still has ethical concerns about AI adult creators. "AI has many great things, many good tools, but it's also very dangerous," her creator said.

They pointed out that deepfakes and child pornography are some of the most dangerous uses of the tech, which they hope people will be severely punished for. "I think there should be regulation, and I always keep up to date with the most recent rules and regulations," they added.
