Molly-Mae Haguemight be known for her love of extensions – she does have an entire range withBeauty Works, after all – but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t need a break from them now and again.

She recently revealed she’d removed her current extensions, and had been rocking her much shorter natural mid-length cut while she gave her hair a mini break from the extra lengths.

Although she’s often seen with long ashy blonde tresses that fall past her chest, in her recent Instagram snaps she’s been spotted with a much shorter cut that stops just past her shoulders.

Her new shorter length hasn’t stopped the newly engaged influencer from sticking with her signature waves though, as she’s adapted her go-to style to suit her temporary look, opting for loose, voluminous waves that she’s paired with a half up half down style.

As part of her collaboration with Beauty Works, Molly-Mae released a Limited Edition Hair Waver, £58.50 here (was £90), which can be used to create mermaid-style waves in seconds, however to get her added volume and sleek, effortless-looking style, you’re going to need a couple of extra tools.

How to create Molly-Mae's beachy waves

To copy Molly-Mae’s loose, beachy waves, first you need to start with damp hair, then choose the heat setting you want for your styler.

Using the root drying concentrator attachment of the Revlon One-Step Blow-Dry Multi Styler, £69.99 here, begin blow-drying your hair with the concentrator aimed at the roots, using your fingers to lift sections and running them through your hair as you go to ensure you get plenty of volume right from the get go.

To create the waves, you can use the 360 degree vented airflow curler by clamping a section of hair and rolling it towards the crown of your head, and holding it vertically until your hair feels dry. This creates a bouncy ringlet, which can then be brushed out using your fingers or a wide toothed comb to make it look more relaxed and natural.

The styler also has a volumising oval brush that can be used to lift the hair at the roots for an added dose of volume that helps leave your hair sleek and bouncy, just like a post-salon blow dry.
