B&M shoppers are going wild as a beloved childhood favourite returns to the shelves after 20 years.

Horlicks has given fans an early Christmas present by bringing back its much-loved "malty tablets".

The chewable tablets are available now to buy from B&M and have been launched as part of the 150th anniversary of the brand.

The tin has had a makeover from the original but fans are hoping they will still have the "yummy" original flavour.

Horlicks fans can pick up a tin of the tablets off the shelves in B&M as they are exclusive to the discounter.

The tablets cost £1.75 for a 60g tin, and fans of the product are already looking to get stocked up.

A post was made in the Snack News and Reviews Facebook group and shoppers were quick to reminisce about the childhood favourite.

One person said: "Ah my late mum loved these she used to buy a roll from the chemist in the 80s and 90s."

Another added: "I miss these, I need all of them."

While a third commented: "I used to love these when I was a kid, I wonder if they still taste the same?"

Some people who had not heard of the Horlicks tablets were unsure what to do with them.

One person asked: "How do you use these? I love Horlicks".

Another person replied: "You just eat them, they are yummy."

Horlicks tablets were originally launched in the 1930s and were supplied to British and American troops during the Second World War as energy-boosting treats.

They were last available at around the turn of the century but were popular amongst fans in the 1980s.

Horlicks reportedly said it has brought back the sweets "in response to unprecedented demand from consumers across the nation."

Even consumer champion Martin Lewis has called for their return in recent years stating "bring them back!" online.

He posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: "I just had a yearning for Horlicks tablets.

"Haven't had one for twenty years. I guess they no longer exist. Anyone know?"

Many fans of the malty treat compare them to the inside of a Malteser, although they were originally marketed as an energy booster rather than a sweet.

Horlicks isn't the only brand bringing some childhood memories flooding back to the tastebuds of shoppers.

Cadbury has brought back a discontinued product last seen on supermarket shelves 10 years ago – and shoppers are going wild.

Meanwhile, popular biscuit maker Fox's has brought back its seasonal sticky toffee pudding Crunch creams and shoppers are delighted.
