Many people working in the adult entertainment industry find it difficult to tell their families what it is they do for a living. But porn star Vanna Bardot showed her explicit pics to her grandma – and they went down a storm.

Vanna explains that she picked out one particular set of pictures to send to her nan, because they seemed “classier” than some of the explicit material she’d been shooting.

“One of my last shoots was for Barely Legal magazine with Dave Naz,” Vanna told podcaster Holly Randall. "And it was the first real photo shoot I had been on. And at the end at the day I called her and I said ‘I shot some photos with a photographer'."

“She said ‘Okay, what kind of photos?’" Vanna recalled. "I said ’It was nude ones but they were very classy’.

“They were pretty cute honestly,” Vanna added. “Compared to like some of the other scenes I had been shooting.” Vanna, 24, is the star of well over 130 adult films including Family Strokes and I Blew It Mom.

Vanna says that Dave Naz is a cut above many of the snappers shooting still images on porn sets: “Dave is a good photographer ,and I looked at his work and I really liked it so I told her about it. I didn't quite tell her what I was doing but eventually I told her about it and she was super-open.

“She always knew that I had a really good head on my shoulders and that I knew what I was doing and that I was safe. She was not very worried."

“My grandma actually was my biggest cheerleader. I sent her all, well perhaps not not all of my photos. But I sent her pictures when I got Penthouse I’ll send her all my classy photos."

Sometime, though, Vanna doesn’t look glamorous on set. Such as the time that a director chose to emphasise her youth by drawing attention to the braces on her teeth.

”It’s actually quite hilarious,” she says.

“I wasn't very happy about doing it at first but by the end of the scene I thought ‘this is so funny … I'm just gonna like really lean into the comedy of this.

“They wanted me to wear headgear. It wasn't attached to my actual braces or anything but I just felt like so ugly. By the end of the scene I was thinking 'this is the funniest thing I've ever done' but I definitely did not feel very sexy!”
