Let's be honest – the thought of stinking of booze isn't a nice one.

Beer is not something you want lingering, so the idea of smelling like a pint all day long isn't great.

But – earlier this year – Brew Dog and refillable deodorant brand Fussy joined forces to create a beer-inspired deodorant, and it left us a little intrigued.

The beer-scented roll-on aims to bring notes of a delicious pint of Punk IPA and leave a bold, hoppy and tropical scent on British men.

So – to see if it can actually make blokes smell better – I spent a day smelling like a pint to see if it really works.

And the results left me a little more than surprised.

I should start off by saying I never usually use roll-ons – I can't tell you why, I just never really have.

Nonetheless, the little product was easy to put on and you didn't need to apply too much to feel fresh.

When I popped some on I was pleasantly surprised by the smell.

I did get a slight whiff of beer, but it didn't feel like someone had tipped a pint over me.

Instead, think of the refreshing zing you smell when you pop open a bottle of cold beer on a warm day.

It says on the packet that there's a hint of pineapple and grapefruit in the product, which you can also pick up on.

The smell is fresh, zingy and it really stays with you throughout the day.

Dubbed "beer-odorant", the nifty little beauty staple is also aluminium free, alcohol free and is refillable.

I found this to be super clever, as it's easy to re-fill the holder and there was plenty to see you through a week or two.

When it came to how successful it was as a beauty product, I was actually left very impressed.

The scent is so fresh I honestly think both men and women could wear it and feel comfortable.

I had it on all day long and didn't feel like I smelt at all so, if you're a woman who likes a lot of sweat protection, it's worth a try.

There was no need to re-apply throughout the day, and the same zingy scent remained for a good 12+ hours.

To give it the ultimate test I also popped some on to go for a run the following day, as I had to be sure my theory was right before I could give the boozy beauty product the ultimate praise.

And – it turns out – my judgement was on point, as I smelt great even after a 6k run in the sun.

Who knew beer could help you to beat BO?

The other thing I liked about it is the "beer-odorant" has a really fresh-smelling scent, but it's not overpowering.

When blokes wear too much spray I can, personally, can find it a bit much – but this was the perfect amount of zing.

It keeps you feeling and smelling fresh, and didn't leave any marks on my clothes.
