From the same dresses and hairstyles, right down to their glasses, twin sisters Rosey Coles and Kathy Hefferman, 69, have donned matching outfits, every day, for the past 23 years.

The pair, from Aldershot, are inseparable – they live next door to each other, spend every waking moment together taking bus rides, going on walks and shopping.

But clothes aren’t the only thing the twins have in common. Kathy and Rosey’s homes have identical floor plans and the same grey colour scheme.

The also worked together for 11 years at their cleaning business, but have since retired.

Mum-of-one Kathy said: ‘It’s like being married to someone for 70 years.

‘People see us and ask to take a photograph. They say they don’t often see twins our age together.

‘We both have the same glasses. We wear our hair the same way.’

It seems the only time the pair aren’t matching is when they’re sleeping, as they don’t always coordinate pyjamas, despite owning the same pairs.

Growing up, the sisters wore a lot of similar clothes from the age of 13 but stopped matching when they both got married and moved apart.

Rosey married in 1974 and Kathy followed suit three years later, however the twins both decided to separate from their husbands in 2000.

Having both left their marriages at the same time the identical twins moved to live closer together, then next door to each other in 2012, and began dressing identically again.

The fashion loving twins can’t help but purchase new outfits – despite already boasting a wardrobe of over 50 clothes.

Their favourite outfits are their 50s style dresses – fitted with petticoat skirts.

Kathy said: ‘We have so many clothes. We always go to the shop and see something we like.

‘We wear lots of long dresses and jeans. We have the same coats. The wardrobe is packed tight.’

The twins give a whole new meaning to ‘shop ’til you drop’ having spent three hours in John Lewis recently, spending £600 on just three dresses.

They plan to keep wearing matching outfits for the rest of their lives – but do sometime wear different tops and jeans to each other if they’re not going out.

Kathy said: ‘We don’t like to wear something twice for an evening outfit. We can’t help but buy something new.’

Rosey and Kathy love the compliments they receive on their matching outfits – and said most people struggle to tell them apart.

Kathy said: ‘We’re always told how lovely we look. People don’t know who is who.

Rosey added: ‘We are very similar, it’s creepy.’

Despite all this time spent together, the pair say they don’t argue and they also love to holiday together.

The identical twins recently went on a cruise to France and Spain together in May and they of course made sure to pack the same clothes into their suitcases.

Kathy spoke about their identical flats, saying: ‘We have exactly the same homes with the same layout and the same grey colour scheme at the moment.’

As well as shopping and day trips, Kathy and Rosey even go to doctors’ appointments together.

Kathy said: ‘We go on bus rides. We go to a village to a café for a little trip out. Sometimes we go out for a drive.’
