Inside Archie’s first birthday as Harry and Meghan are seen making a balloon arch and cake

The next three episodes of the highly anticipated Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan have just been released, and viewers were once again given insight into the life of the Duke and Duchess.

So far, we’ve seen the former Suits actor open up about how her race was made "an issue" in the UK, Harry claim that the Royal family had “planted” stories in the press, plus much lighter events including footage of when the couple first met and holidayed in Botswana together.

But for those who have made it to episode 6, you’ll know that there was a focus on one of the younger members of the family – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s eldest child, Archie, who was about to celebrate his first birthday.

Of course, the young Royal was born in early May 2019, which means the home video was obviously a couple of years old. Nevertheless, it showed the sweet and private moment of Harry filming Meghan attempting to make a balloon arch for her son’s party.

“What’s going on my love?” Harry is heard asking behind the camera.

“We are making this balloon arch for Archie’s first birthday,” Meghan replied, as she gestured to the image of what it’s supposed to look like on the instructions page.

Harry then dryly replied: “It doesn’t look like an arch,” to which she laughed and said: “It’ll get there.”

The prince then turns the camera around and shakes his head as he joins in on the crafts session, attempting to blow a balloon up.

The episode then cuts to a timelapse video of the couple in the kitchen making their son a birthday cake. Meghan looked casual and natural as stirred the cake mix, dressed in a white vest top, grey jeans, her hair back in a loose bun and minimal makeup.

During the clip, viewers could even see a small glass of red wine in shot as the husband and wife baking duo spent quality time together in the run up to this momentous occasion for them as parents.

Shortly after this clip, the episode cut to a photograph of Harry, Meghan, Archie and Meghan’s mum, Doria Ragland celebrating the tot’s birthday.

The image featured an adorable Archie in a high chair with a party hat on his head, with his parents and grandmother smiling and cheering as the then one year old blew out his candles.

The finished cake was also front and centre, donning an arrangement of fresh strawberries and blueberries for decoration. The couple placed a big gold ‘number one’ in the centre as pieces of confetti were caught on camera.

Well, it looks as though Archie’s first birthday celebrations were a success!
