Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have tied the knot in Las Vegas, nearly twenty years after they first got engaged.

The singer, 52, and actor, 49, obtained a marriage license in both of their names on Saturday, July 16, according to TMZ, and then exchanged vows in front of their loved ones, including Jennifer's twins, Emma and Max, 14, as well as her beloved mum.

Jennifer, who recently wowed fans with her youthful hair makeover, then officially announced the happy news in her newsletter, On The JLo, and posted a string of snaps from her and Ben's big day.

"We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient," the actress wrote.

She then revealed that they'd flown to Vegas and "stood in line for a license with four other couples", and that she and Ben had "barely made it to the chapel by midnight".

"Exactly what we wanted. Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world. Behind us two men held hands and held each other.

"In front of us, a young couple who made the three hour drive from Victorville on their daughter’s second birthday—all of us wanting the same thing— for the world to recognize us as partners and to declare our love to the world through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage," Jennifer wrote.

The chapel stayed open for the couple luckily and they took some snaps in a pink convertible car, however Elvis wasn't present as he was "in bed".

The mum-of-two added: "We barely made it to the little white wedding chapel by midnight. They graciously stayed open late a few minutes, let us take pictures in a pink Cadillac convertible, evidently once used by the king himself (but if we wanted Elvis himself to show, that cost extra and he was in bed)."

Jennifer looking incredible on her big day, with the star opting for a classic white gown with a flowing skirt and a matching veil.

Her hairstylist, Chris Appleton, showed off Jennifer's wedding day look on Instagram as she revealed she'd been "saving" the gown for a while.

The 52 year old wore her brunette locks in loose curls and finished off her look with diamond earrings and a cream mini bag.

The star branded the day "the best possible wedding we could have imagined" and continued to gush over her new husband.

"So with the best witnesses you could ever imagine, a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben’s closet, we read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives.

"They even had Bluetooth for a (short) march down the aisle. But in the end it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined. One we dreamed of long ago and one made real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible and one another) at very, very long last," Jennifer said.

The morning after her and Ben's Las Vegas ceremony, Jennifer shared a stunning make-up free snap on Instagram as she showed off her new wedding band.

Jennifer could be seen relaxing in bed as she scrolled on her phone, with her thick gold ring clearly visible on her hand. The singer beamed as she shared the happy news with her fans, with thousands flocking to congratulate them both.

Jennifer signed off her wedding announcement by calling it "the best moment" and called her new husband Ben "the one" who she'll "spend forever with."

She concluded her post by adding: "They were right when they said, 'all you need is love'. We are so grateful to have that in abundance, a new wonderful family of five amazing children and a life that we have never had more reason to look forward to.

"Stick around long enough and maybe you’ll find the best moment of your life in a drive through in Las Vegas at twelve thirty in the morning in the tunnel of love drive through, with your kids and the one you’ll spend forever with. Love is a great thing, maybe the best of things-and worth waiting for."
