Inside Jeremy Clarkson’s custom-built Cotswolds mansion close to Diddly Squat farm

He’s best known to viewers for his presenting roles on motoring shows Top Gear and The Grand Tour, but Jeremy Clarkson has tapped into an entirely new generation of fans with his foray into the word of farming on Clarkson’s Farm.

The popular documentary series has documented the life of the mortaring expert since 2019, when he embarked on a brand new adventure and set out to transform 1000 acres of land tucked away in the heart of the Cotswolds.

While the farm itself is the star of the show, the series has also given fans a first-hand look at Jeremy’s own luxury home, which he has spared no expense in building for his family.

With an impressive personal fortune worth a whopping £55million, it’s safe to say no expense was spared in crafting the luxury pad, but it may surprise fans to know it was actually built from scratch in the place of an old farmhouse close to the Diddly Squat Farm itself.

The project has been a real labour of love for Jeremy, who purchased the land for both the farm and home back in 2008, but has only recently seen the bulk of his plans come to fruition.

The new property is located on the site of Curdle Hill Farmhouse, a £4million five-bedroom property dating back around a century ago to the early 1900s.

Jeremy purchased the period building as part of the estate in 2012 though always had the plan to build his dream home on the lot rather than preserve the existing structure.

According to plans that were approved for his renovations, the new property was touted to be a "a modest country house/gentrified farmhouse which gives the appearance of having grown over time”.

And now, thanks to posts shared on Instagram and behind the scenes on the show, fans can see inside the stunning pad for themselves as it had been transformed from an old farmhouse, into a staple of classic country style living.

Filled with a variety of unique features, which are rumoured to include a basement cinema, the property boasts five bathrooms in total, with one of the most frequently seen rooms, being Jeremy’s modern open-plan kitchen.

Frequently appearing in several of his Instagram stories, fans at home have been able to identify a large white marble island counter spans almost the width of the room, decorated with glass vases and bright bouquets of flowers.

Modern ceiling lights add a touch of brightness and character, while a breakfast bar offers a functional space for both entertaining and day to day life.

There’s also no shortage of storage either, with floor to ceiling storage filling one wall, while a cosy sofa can be seen in the centre of the room.

Additionally, a large wooden dining table also takes pride of place in the kitchen, suggesting that Jeremy and his partner Lisa Hogan enjoy socialising while cooking, eating and drinking.

While many celebrities prefer to stick to monochrome kitchens, Jeremy and Lisa haven’t shied away from colour in their property, with cream, pastel green and duck egg blue all appearing throughout the kitchen and on the walls to convey a modern yet classic feel.

Another standout feature is the prominent use of white sash windows and doors throughout the mansion, which allows for uninterrupted views of the gorgeous natural beauty that surrounds the home.

There was also no shortage of personal knick-knacks either, with plenty of books and framed artwork adorning the walls and shelves to show that the home was indeed a lived-in and functional space.

Yet while Jeremy and his family are clearly fans of the makeover, not everyone has been so keen on the transformation.

Property and mortgage expert Lewis Shaw, of Shaw Financial Services in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, told the MailOnline: "This new pad looks exactly like its owner – a wannabe gentleman but without the history, breeding or elegance, and empty of intellect and panache."
