It was double celebrations forMadonnaand her family as they jetted off to Sicily for two family birthdays.
The musician, 64, is in Italy for celebrations of her own birthday on 16 August but also had the chance to celebrate son Rocco turning 22 earlier in the month.
The family are currently residing in the stunning Palazzo Castelluccio, a 18th-century Sicilian palace andaccording to reports, the Queen of Pop will be spending “tens of thousands”on her own birthday.
Before those celebrations, Madonna celebrated Rocco – who she shares with ex Guy Ritchie – with a lavish affair including an unusual briefcase style cake.
To commemorate the big day, the singer took to Instagram and shared what the family had been up to with her 18 million followers.
For the party, the Material Girl singer donned a cream-coloured silk dress that was covered in a pink floral pattern.
She piled on the jewellery with chunky, colourful bangles and a stack of diamond-covered necklaces.
Madonna completed the look with a pair of stone-embellished high heels that displayed her glossy red pedicure.
She wrote in the caption: “From one Leo to another!! Happy birthday Rocco.”
The birthday boy was effortlessly cool in a blue shirt unbuttoned to show off his chest and was helped by his sisters to cut his cake.
Also appearing in the images were her other children: David Banda and Mercy James, both sixteen, and Stelle and Estere Ciccone, both nine.
A source previously toldThe Sunwhat Madonna will be up to for her birthday, stating: “As with every birthday, Madonna will host an epic party, but this year will be particularly special.
“The palace is nothing short of spectacular. I can only imagine she has blown tens of thousands on the evening. But when you’re worth £700million, money isn’t an issue.
“The plan is to have dinner and drinks outside under the Mediterranean sky with a live band. All of her family are flying to the island with her.”
Teasing her big day in typically unsubtle style, she has been taking to Instagram to share a string of racy snaps, alongside the caption: “It’s almost my birthday . . . send me presents.”
Last year, Madonna celebrated her birthday in Italy alongside boyfriend, professional dancer Ahlamalik Williams.
However, thepair split in Aprilthis year as she reportedly found it “hard to keep their romance alight” amid her busy schedule.
“Madonna has thrown herself into a busy social life and has been seeing her friends and family after the split," a source toldThe Sun.
"She has a packed schedule, working on her upcoming biopic, new music and looking after her family, things have been on and off with Ahlamalik for a while. There’s a lot of love but for now they have decided to separate.
“They are still on good terms and there are no hard feelings but they are at different places with their lives, they spent months together on tour and in lockdown, but now he has moved out of her home."
Madonna first met Ahlamalik, 28, in 2015 when he joined her Rebel Heart tour as one of her dancers and the pair went on to date four years later in 2019.
