Is it selfish to have my nasty ex's baby when he told me to have an abortion? | The Sun

Dear Deidre: WOULD it be selfish to have my nasty ex’s baby after he told me to have an abortion?

I’ve always wanted to be a mum and feel this baby is meant to be, even if it grows up without a dad.

I’m 25 and my ex is 28. We were together for a year and talked about having kids one day but he said he wasn’t ready yet and insisted on using condoms.

Then I learned he was cheating on me and telling lies, so I threw him out.

A week later, I found out I was pregnant. One of the condoms must have split.

I told him about the baby and he was awful. He said I was on my own and should get rid of it.

Then he called me a slut and said it probably wasn’t even his baby.

My family and friends don’t think I should have the baby but I don’t want to have an abortion, even though I don’t know how I’ll manage as a single mum.

Is it wrong to deny my baby a dad?

DEIDRE SAYS: This is your decision, no matter what anyone else thinks.

Plenty of women have babies alone and if you love your child, you’ll find a way to manage.

Condoms do split, so your ex can’t shirk responsibility if you want to have the baby. He’ll have to support the baby financially. Do make an appointment with your GP.

My support pack Unplanned Pregnancy, will help you think this through.
