Kirstie Alleys best Celeb Big Brother moments – from meeting King Charles to runner-up

Kirstie Alley has died from cancer at the age of 71, surrounded by her family.

The American star was known for her role in TV show Cheers, as well as the film franchise Look Who's Talking. Kirstie starred in the popular films with John Travolta, who she has called "the greatest love of my life".

Alongside her acting credits, she also turned her hand to reality TV in 2018. Kirstie took second place in Celebrity Big Brother, with Ryan Thomas taking the victory.

Here we remember some of her best moments on the show…

Meeting King Charles

Kirstie has plenty of showbiz stories that impressed her fellow housemates and viewers at home.

A particularly standout anecdote was her admission that she'd spent time socialising with King Charles, who at the time was a Prince.

"I’m friends with Courtney Love, and one time we went for dinner and what’s his name, oh my god, Elton John was at dinner and there were only four of us," she revealed.

"And then another time she asked me round to her house for snacks, and Prince Charles was there!," she casually mentioned.

Her love life

Housemate Sally Morgan questioned Kirstie on her Hollywood romances.

In a candid chat she opened up about falling for two very famous men – Patrick Swayze and John Travolta.

Speaking about the former she said, "I kissed him and I wish I could have had an affair but I am a strong believer in fidelity." Kirstie was married to fellow actor Parker Stevenson from 1983 to 1997.

She added, "I think I kissed Travolta. I almost ran off and married John. I did love him, I still love him.

"If I hadn’t been married I would’ve gone and married him and I would’ve been in an airplane because he has his own plane."

Her laxative horror

Kirstie told her fellow housemates that she'd taken natural laxatives while dieting, and while driving with her two young children, William and Lillie, she realised that she needed to go to the toilet.

"I was about ten minutes from home, and I'm like 'oh my god, I'm going to poop'. I'm driving. I'm sweating. I'm looking at the children, and I needed to pull off to go to the gas station."

She realised that she wouldn't have time to get both children out of the car before going to the toilet so found a diaper. "I pooped my pants!"

Her fellow housemates Gabby Allen and Dan Osbourne were suitably amused at her tale.

Becoming runner up

Kirstie's honest candour and amusing stories earned her runner-up on the show.

When host Emma Willis asked Kirstie how she felt about the accolade she replied, "I'm so excited", and added she never expected to get so far in the competition while looking visibly emotional.

Speaking of her experience she called it "wonderful", before adding "I couldn't really understand everyone" due to their regional accents.

She concluded the interview by telling Emma: "Your life isn't really worth living unless you have stories to tell your kids and your friends."
