Lidl May Bank Holiday 2021 opening times: What time are stores open today?

LIDL shoppers will still be able to head to the discount supermarket over the bank holiday.

We have rounded up everything you need to know about when the store is open this weekend.

When is Lidl open over the early May bank holiday?

Lidl is usually open from 8am to 10pm most days and in most stores across the UK.

But on a typical Sunday the shop is usually open from 10am to 4pm, and today is no different.

On bank holiday Monday however, the store will be closing two hours earlier at 8pm.

After that opening hours are back to normal from Tuesday but make sure you double check your local supermarket with Lidl's locator tool in case there's any variation from these times where you are.

Is Lidl delivering over the bank holiday?

Lidl doesn't actually offer home delivery anyway, regardless of the upcoming bank holiday.

The store is believed to have ditched plans to launch online shopping and delivery in the UK last year after shutting down the part of its business which runs digital logistics.

You can browse a few featured items on the store's website but it doesn't have a stock checking system online.

So you'll have to make the trip out to the shops if you want to nab some bargains over the holiday weekend.

When are the bank holiday dates for 2021?

Here is the full list of upcoming 2021 bank holidays in England and Wales.

Dates in Scotland and Northern Ireland vary.

  • Monday, May 3 (Early May Bank Holiday)

  • Monday, August 30 (Summer Bank Holiday)
  • Saturday, December 25 (Christmas Day)
  • Sunday, December 26 (Boxing Day)

We can reveal when the best times are to head down to discount chains like Lidl to make sure you're at the front of the queue for one-off specials and heavily reduced items.

Ahead of the last bank holiday at Easter, Lidl was involved in a supermarket-wide price war over discount groceries.

And when they were pitting the stores against each other, shoppers at Lidl spotted copycat Percy Pig sweets called Henry Hippo and reckon they taste the same.
