We weren’t ready for Lizzo.

The “Truth Hurts” singer brought the energy to the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday with a highly electrifying performance.

Lizzo, 34, took the stage in an all-pink ensemble to sing a snippet of her hit “About Damn Time” before transitioning to her latest single “2 Be Loved (Am I Ready),” both from her fourth studio album, “Special.”

She pulled out all the stops, channeling Beyoncé’s “Run the World (Girls)” performance at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards, where the “Cuff It” singer, now 40, famously synched her dance moves with the large video screen behind her.

Lizzo was just one of the many artists who were selected to perform at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., for the awards show.
