Luca Bish has been a hit with viewers on this year's Love Island with his gleaming veneers and cheeky one-liners.

The Fishmonger, 23, has tons of charisma and charm and has won the heart of fellow Islander, Gemma Owen.

Outside of the villa, the future influencer has some rather notable celebrity ties from a legendary EastEnders actress and a former Strictly Come Dancing star, to singer Nick Cave who penned an open letter. We take a dive inside Luca's celebrity network…

Prior to entering the villa, Luca revealed he'd enjoyed a four-year relationship with influencer Sophie Floyd and a short-lived romance with Saffron Barker.

Strictly's Saffron Barker

Luca revealed that he dated Strictly Come Dancing 2019 star Saffron Barker for a few months before entering the Love Island villa.

Saffron, 21, attended the same school in Brighton as the fishmonger, and after growing close, they enjoyed a brief romance.

The former couple appears to still be on good terms, with YouTube star Saffron wishing him luck as he got set to enter the villa last month.

A cosy Instagram snap of Saffron and Luca was recently unearthed, with the duo looking loved-up as they cuddled in bed together.

Speaking about their romance, Luca told Metro: "I think she had just come out of a relationship. And then yeah, that was it. We just kind of hit the ground running a bit. We still remain really good mates."

Luca added: “Dating Saffron Barker gave me my first taste of fame."

Influencer Sophie Floyd

Before entering the villa, Luca was previously dating MUA and tattoo influencer, Sophie Floyd, 22.

Sophie boasts 355,000 followers on Instagram and also runs a popular YouTube channel, where she shows off her latest outfits and beauty finds, and occasionally opens up about her personal life.

Speaking about their break-up, Luca explained: "I came out of a four-year relationship about a year ago. I was enjoying being in a relationship, there were just things I didn’t like and we drifted apart."

However, Sophie appears to feel differently about the split and in a YouTube video she posted around seven months ago, she told her 264,000 subscribers that she had got her "heartbroken" by the fishmonger.

The tattoo artist said she didn't want to go into too much detail about the breakup, and told her followers: "As a lot of you have kind of gathered, me and Luca aren't together anymore. It's a lot. I've been dealing with that and all the things that come with that. Very sudden, very unexpected, weird."

She then shared the extent of which Luca's actions impacted her as she said: "He did f*****g hurt me and he was massively disrespectful to me towards the end, which is why I kind of just had to put things to bed and move forward."

EastEnders' Patsy Palmer

Among the flurry of supporters surprisingly was Patsy Palmer, 50, EastEnders legend Patsy Palmer, who played Bianca Butcher, who took to Instagram Stories to share his official promo photo alongside a positive message.

The actress captioned: “Omg @lucabish all grown up and going on @loveisland we cannot wait to watch you. You will smash it so beautiful, kind & funny.

"YAY from your Malibu crew”, before adding several pink heart emojis fondly.

"You will smash it so beautiful, kind & funny. Yay from your Malibu crew.

Luca revealed in a chat that Patsy is actually a friend of his family. He said: "She's just a really close family friend.

"Obviously, she's in Malibu now so not as close but she's a very close family friend. My parents are always calling her back and forth."

Nick Cave's letter

Nick Cave has praised Luca Bish and his family in an open letter, to the surprise of fans, as he explained that the family supported him after the death of his son in 2015.

Australian singer, 64, wrote: "At the moment, the defining difference between Susie and me is that she watches Love Island, and I don’t. Susie watches Love Island because we know one of the contestants, Luca. Luca was a school friend of our twins, Arthur and Earl.

“As a consequence, Susie and I became friends with Luca’s parents, Maria and Michael. Maria is an antique dealer. Michael is a fishmonger. Luca is a fishmonger too.”

Nick continued: “After Arthur died, in the early days of that terrible, chaotic first week, Maria turned up on our doorstep with a tray of lasagna and basically looked after us.

The music star went on to say that Luca's parents, Maria and Michael, were "as good as people get" and that they "love their son Luca".

Love Island continues on ITV2 at 9pm.
