MAFS’ Duka Cavolli’s life since show ended from being blocked by Whitney to teasing new love

He didn't find love on the latest season of Married at First Sight UK, but Duka Cavolli certainly captured the hearts of the nation as he held his head high and departed the experiment after his wife on the show, Whitney Hughes, developed a connection with fellow contestant Matt Murray.

The 31 year old recruitment HR coordinator from Birmingham first entered the experiment with an open mind as he hoped to find the perfect partner under the guidance of the show’s experts.

However, it was far from smooth sailing with his bride Whitney, who from day one, admitted she very nearly hadn’t married him, as he was “too small” for her.

After marrying Duka in episode one, Whitney was often critical of her spouse, and was met by criticism from viewers who said she failed to give Duka a chance.

When describing her husband, she said: "I wanted a man to tower over me like massive, like a brick house, compared to a house maybe he's like a shed.”

Whitney then got close to Murray, who had been married to Gemma Rose during the process.

As the romance became public in explosive scenes, Duka decided to leave the experiment.

But what has his life been like since leaving the show?

Blocked by ex-wife Whitney

While appearing on an episode of Reality with Will Njobvu, Duka revealed that many members of the MAFS UK cast had been blocked by his ex-wife Whitney following the fallout from the drama.

During the interview Duka claimed she had blocked “half of them” before expanding a little more on the reasoning behind her decision.

“It’s funny and ironic how she’s blocked at least half of them on Instagram. I’m like, why are you going to do that? Why is someone going to block other people on social media and Instagram and all these platforms?” he said.

When quizzed about why she may have taken the decision to block her co-stars, including himself, Duka said: “I don’t know, because sometimes when people share their opinions, they don’t want certain people to know about their opinions. That’s my assumption.”

“Or for example when they see other people doing well and getting love then maybe they don’t wanna see that,” he added.

A new romance

Although Duka was unlucky in love during the experiment, it appears a new romance has blossomed out in the real world, as Duka recently revealed to a fan that he was no longer single.

During an Instagram Q&A ahead of the MAFS reunion show, one curious fan asked the Brummie charmer outright is he was still single, to which he candidly replied: “To the person that is asking that question, you know the answer already. No, I'm not single. More will be revealed soon.”

Although no further details were given, many fans expect more information to emerge following the show’s reunion episodes, which are due to air on Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 October.

New beginnings and the perfect profile picture

It isn’t just Duke’s relationship status that has changed since leaving the show either, as the reality star quipped he’s managed to score himself a “banging LinkedIn profile picture” since taking part, in a clear nod to his optimism.

Sharing an image on Instagram of him posing in an immaculately tailored blue suit and tie, Duka chose to look at the experience positively as he joked: “With all things considered at least I got a banging LinkedIn profile picture out of it. Always thinking positive.”

You can watch the first of two Married at First Sight reunion episodes tonight at 9pm on E4.
