Margot Robbie and Sofia Richie’s go-to £34 Chanel lip balm is in a John Lewis Black Friday sale

OK! has put together a comprehensive guide to the shopping event with answers to common questions like when is Black Friday 2023?

When it comes to makeup bag must-haves, there’s nothing better than a good lip balm, especially with the colder weather, low humidity and high winds leaving our lips feeling chapped and a little worse for wear.

From keeping your lips smooth and hydrated to adding an extra sheen to your usual lippy, a good lip balm really is the ultimate multi-use product, and it seems even celebs know the power of the seemingly innocuous beauty staple.

For several A-listers, their go-to lip balm is Chanel’s Rouge Coco Baume, £27.20 here(was £34), which has been worn at several red carpets and major life events in the last year alone.

Margot Robbie added a slick of it to her fresh-faced look for the Barbie Premiere in London, whilst Sofia Richie walked down the aisle wearing it for her April wedding earlier this year, making it one of the most versatile beauty essentials out there.

The coveted lip balm usually retails for £34, however thanks to the John Lewis early Black Friday sale, you can now get it for just £27.20 here, saving you 20% on the celeb-approved balm.

Chanel Rouge Coco Baume, £27.20 here (was £34), lands somewhere between a lipstick and a balm, as the hydrating formula can be used for a subtle, sheer tint of colour, or built up in just three coats to create a more vibrant, lipstick-like finish.

As well as its buildable colour payoff, the balm contains oleoactive, which is an oil derived from the fruit of olive trees which is high in omega-9s, and the leaves of the tree, which are rich in polyphenol, which act as antioxidants to keep your lips healthy and smooth.

The balm-like formula leaves lips looking plumper, smoother, and less chapped, and gives your pout up to 12 hours of hydration whilst also becoming more matte-looking while you wear it.

Currently there are only two different shades on the John Lewis website, withPink Delightoffering a Barbie-worthy pale pink hue, andSweet Treat, which gives a darker, more sultry berry colour.

However, the full range contains eight different shades which can be shopped on theChanel websitewhere they’re still the full price of £34.

However, if you’re after something similar that’s a little more affordable than the luxurious celeb-loved Chanel, L’Oreal Glow Paradise Balm-in-Lipstick £8.99 here, has an almost identical balm-in-lipstick design that helps nourish your lips while you wear it, with a buttery texture that applies and hydrates like a balm, but with a colour pay off your fave lippy would be proud of.

We may not be hitting the red carpet any time soon, but at least we’ll definitely be bringing our A-list game to our next Christmas party!
