Brits love treating themselves to a McDonald's when the annual Monopoly promotion is on.

After all, people have the chance to win great holidays, money and a lot more by simply buying a burger.

In just a few weeks the offer will be making a big return, and the restaurant has already teased some of the prizes for the big draw.

It's all set to kick off from September 6, and customers will be able to get involved by collecting tokens on the packaging on menu items such as fries, wraps, drinks and McFlurry ice creams.

McDonald’s said the Monopoly incentive would be making a big return last month.

It posted on Instagram to confirm it will run until October 17, but you have to be 18 or over to take part.

People were thrilled with the news, as one wrote: "YESSSSSSSSS."

Meanwhile, another commented: "This is going to become a regular lunch in September."

Just like the normal Monopoly game, each token works to represent a road or train station.

When a set of tokens has been collected you're then able to claim a prize, and what you receive tends to be better if the set is rarer.

So, if fewer tokens are made, then you have better chances of winning big.

Some of the prizes this year are pretty impressive, as some foodie fans could walk away with £100,000 in cash if they're lucky enough.

There's a chance you could walk away with a mini electric car, and even a holiday, as you can bag a TUI trip abroad worth £2,000.

The popular game started way back in 2005, and people have loved it ever since.

It gives McDonald's customers the chance to win big while picking up some food.

To mark the big return of the scheme, it's since announced there'll be two events where lots of prizes will be up for grabs.

One event will be held at King’s Cross station in London on August 30 between 11am and 4pm, and the other will take place on September 1 between 11am and 4pm.

You can simply turn up to attend, so there's no need to book a ticket.

All items will be available on a first come first serve basis, and there'll also be a chance to bag free fries.
