Meghan Markle bought a ‘chic’ zero waste dog lead set for her beloved pooch

Sussexes’ Spotify deal ends after one series of Meghan’s podcast

Meghan Markle has splashed out on a lavish dog leash set from the US brand Cuyana, according to the website Meghan’s Mirror.com, which faithfully chronicles the Duchess’s clothing.

Setting her back a cool £99 ($128) the website reported Meghan walked her rescue beagle with the leash, which is made from zero-waste leather. The set even comes with a detachable pouch to hold poo bags in and comes in two colours – caramel and quartz.

The Duchess of Sussex is known for her love of dogs – and has two adorable pups of her own. Meghan shares three dogs with her husband Prince Harry – a black Labrador called Pula, and two rescue Beagles, named Guy and Mia.

Sadly, Meghan had to give up one of her beloved pups when she moved to the UK to become a full-time working royal.

Prince Harry wrote in his memoir Spare that Meghan had to say “goodbye to her friends, goodbye to her car, goodbye to one of her dogs—Bogart.”

Bogart, a Labrador-Shepherd mix, went to go live with a former neighbour of the duchess when she lived in Toronto, Canada.

Her husband explained: “He’d been so traumatised by the siege of her house, by the constant ringing of the doorbell, that his demeanor changed when Meg was around. He’d become an aggressive guard dog. Meg’s neighbours had graciously agreed to adopt him.”

Meghan was able to take her other dog, Guy, to London with her when she moved. She said in her post-engagement interview with the BBC: “I’ve had two dogs that I’ve had for a long time, two rescue pups. One is now staying with a very close friend and the other little guy is, yes, he’s in the UK.”

“He’s been here for a while. I think he’s doing just fine.”

The Duchess of Sussex is a passionate advocate for animal rescue, writing in an essay for animal welfare charity Mayhew in 2019: “As a proud rescue dog owner, I know from personal experience the joy that adopting an animal into your home can bring.

”The role that we, as people, play in rehoming and rescuing these animals is vital, but the role of organisations such as Mayhew is unparalleled.”

Their latest addition was adopted in August 2022 – a seven-year-old rescue Beagle called Mamma Mia.
