Muller has delighted fans by bringing back a much-loved yogurt from the 1990s.

Mississippi Mud Pie flavour Muller Corners have relaunched in the UK, with delighted fans quickly rushing to their nearest Asda to pick up the sweet treat.

Müller Yogurt & Desserts say they had seen the petitions and read the tweets demanding a comeback, and now, after much anticipation, the public’s call has been answered.

It delivers a deliciously creamy toffee and coffee flavour yogurt, with a chocolate sauce underlayer and a separate helping of chocolate crumble.

Toby Bevans, Strategy and Marketing Director at Müller Yogurt & Desserts told FEMAIL: ‘We have seen an overwhelming demand to bring Müller Corner Mississippi Mud Pie Inspired back, so we’re delighted to bring this iconic flavour back to fridges across the country.

Customers have already rushed to stores to get their hands on products

Fans have shared their sweet treat on Facebook

‘We hope to bring people of all ages a taste of the 90s with this much-loved Müller Corner classic.’

The yogurt, which was discontinued in 2018, has been sorely missed by fans who have even set up a Facebook group demanding its return.

Posting online, one fan wrote: ‘Is it actually back? what stores? is this true?’

Another wrote: ‘I remember this 18 years ago it was my favourite.’

A third added: ‘I’ve missed this yoghurt so much! Don’t you ever discontinue again’

It comes as many ‘nostalgic’ foods have become popular in recent years.

Following the Covid-19 pandemic, nostalgic 1970s dishes made a comeback with sales of dinner party staples from the era including prawn cocktail, beef stroganoff and baked Alaska soaring in popularity.

Sales of ‘old fashioned’ sweets from people’s childhoods, like cola cubes, rhubarb and custards, mint imperials, sherbet pips and other nostalgic products such as fudge, toffee and chocolate all soared in the UK.

The news also comes as Cadbury’s discontinued Dairy Milk Treatsize Buttons – leaving some UK customers gutted.

The bitesize sweets have long been a favourite among buyers, but fans of the popular chocolate treat are set to be disappointed as they will no longer be available across the nation.

Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Treatsize buttons are often regarded as one of the company’s most suitable options for children, but won’t be an option to purchase individually for much longer.

While the change might come as a surprise, the confectionary company has said the shake-up is designed to meet the ‘changing tastes’ of the population.

As the treatsize chocolate buttons disappear off our shelves, the Giant Buttons will be the closest alternative.

Müller Corner Mississippi Mud Pie Inspired is available now in Asda, with a wider rollout from September, in single packs for 90p.
