Mum cracks hilarious mystery of daughter's 'infested' bedroom

As any parent will know there’s always the fear of finding something questionable in your child’s bedroom.

From moldy food to dirty socks, you never know what you might uncover.

And, for mum-of-three Kelli Tarin, that nightmare became a reality when she discovered a mysterious brown pile in her daughter’s bedroom.

Kelli, from Texas, USA, took to Facebook in a desperate effort to find out what was going on.

She wrote: ‘This is a rent house we moved into. They almost look like coffee grounds, or an ant bed…but they feel like shells or something.

‘I have found two piles of these. Only in my daughters room. I clean it almost every day.’

The mum went on to say that her daughter was sleeping in her room, while she waited for a pest control company to work out what the substance was.

She wrote: ‘We called two pest control companies yesterday. Literally both of them said they have never seen anything like this. Ever.

Kelli questioned whether the piles could be a result of various different critters.

‘If it were terminates, they said the droppings or whatever they leave behind is completely different… If it were roaches, wouldn’t I see some?

‘Mice are believable but this is not mouse droppings. I grew up on a farm, I know what mice droppings look like.

‘It is nowhere else in the house. Only here. I am having landlords come out.’

But after so much concern Kelli soon returned to the Homemaking Tips Facebook Group to share her relief after solving the mystery.

She wrote: ‘Please laugh with me about this. I read a comment from someone that said their kid’s lavender bear busted opened and this was inside.’

Kelli says she’d originally found such a bear – the type you heat up in the microwave – in the pile, but had thrown it away, not thinking much of it. But when she dug it back out, things became clear.

‘Sure enough there is a hole in it,’ she wrote. ‘I poured out the contents and these beads were inside! I have laughed for 30 mins. Imagine my relief.

‘Thanks for all the help.’

Facebook also saw the funny side of the situation with comments saying ‘I’m dying’ and ‘I absolutely love this whole situation’.

One even wrote: ‘Please tell me you called the pest control companies back so they could have a laugh too.’
