A bloke's filthy bedroom horrified the internet and he barely cleans it even when dates come over.

Jacob Herring, who posts online as @powenvy, went viral after he started sharing videos of his extremely messy room. In one of his recent videos, the 21-year-old, from Houston, Texas, showed his 234,000 followers around his room — introducing them to the cockroaches that "crawl over his face when he's sleeping".

He filmed a bowl of ramen that was going mouldy, asking "why it has so many colours" and his floor was barely visible due to how many takeaway boxes, crisp packets and moulding cold coffee bottles were left lying around. He even found a half eaten hot dog — which he believed "still looked good" enough for him to take a bite out of it.

After filling just one bag the room wasn't even close to being clean and he decided he needed to get a cleaner in to do the rest.

In another clip, which gained more than 2.2million likes, the bloke claimed he was "cleaning his room because a girl was coming over". However, he merely cleared a small area around his gaming chair for her sto sit down with him.

There were still mouldy drinks and food all around the room. "Guys, I've got a girl coming over and my room's got to be spotless when she gets here," he said in the video.

"I don't want to gross her out. Here's the room before. This is the situation. I think it's gotten pretty bad but we're going to get this fixed up real quick."

He was seen clearing away some rubbish, mouldy food items and "crunchy socks" when he shockingly claimed that food and drinks just "mould too fast". Despite the state of his room, he still believed his date would go well.

At the end of the clip, he added: "I think she'll be really impressed when she gets here because I mean, like, my gaming setup's clean. So when she sits down to like play league with me."

Many people took to the comments hoping the clip was some sort of mass prank on his followers — but he has insisted the videos are real.

Speaking to the Daily Star, he said: "I did a livestream where I gave my viewers incentives for certain milestones getting reached. Viewers wanted me to clean my room so I did and recorded it for fun.

"I’ve had people accuse me of having a studio room where I purposefully make it dirty but no, I do live in my room. My videos are real. Honestly it just started when I was a kid, I’d forget to take a bowl down or something and over time it just escalated.

"I don’t try to have a dirty room, it just is what it is. I have hired maids to clean it which I did a video on, and I intend to probably hire them again since it’s gotten pretty messy recently."

The video went viral, gaining more than 285,000 likes, with horrified viewers taking to the comments to give their opinions. One TikTok user said: "How do people live like this?"

Another added: "Bros room is an environment for roaches." A third commented: "The maid gunna walk in and walk right out." A fourth wrote: "Fills up a trash bag and doesn't make a dent."

However, Jacob doesn't let the comments get to him as he added: "I think its funny to read the comments. I don’t really get mad at stuff very often. But seeing the comments is just amusing to me."

The lad actually earns money from the videos he makes of his room as he is in the TikTok Creator Fund. Now, he wants to push to earn more from his content.

"I really wanna use this momentum to expand to larger projects," he explained. "Making content has always been what’s made me happy since I was nine."

For now, Jacob still lives with his parents. But his earnings from the creator fund have allowed him to save to move out "in a few weeks" and he admits his family have had "enough" of his room.
