My girl says she can no longer afford to visit me for sex as petrol is too expensive and times are hard.

I’m bereft. Her visits are the only things that keep me sane. I can’t help feeling she’s using the fuel-price crisis as an excuse. I’ve felt she’s been going off me for ages. How do I get her to change her mind?

MY husband stood up at the anniversary party I’d organised and paid for and gave a 30-minute speech all about himself.

He talked about his childhood, his career, his family, and his mates. Not once did he mention me or our kids. People were falling off their seats with boredom. In the end I was in tears and my sister had to hiss at him to “shut up” and sit down.

No one had asked him to speak – I’d actually decreed no speeches – yet he ruined the whole day.

Now he can’t understand why I’m so angry. How do I stop myself from divorcing the oaf?

If you’re not, then he has to hear why you’re so upset. Why did he think everyone wanted to hear about his life?

Can you put this behind you and move on? If he’s a good, kind person who has always provided for the family, then can he be forgiven for this one lapse of judgment?
