Most recently, the health-focused professional explained how to make bowel movements more regular with her number one suggestion being nature’s laxative – the fig

Her number one suggestion is nature’s laxative – the fig.

‘Figs are fantastic,’ the naturopathic doctor gushed. ‘They are loaded with fiber, fabulous to help with that constipation.’

The next tip is simple – and something everyone should be doing anyway – drinking enough water.

‘You need to be properly hydrated with good quality water to keep things moving,’ she advised.

The third is a little more controversial and may take some getting used to, as she advised drizzling a drop of olive oil into your morning coffee.

‘This is a recipe that I shared – you’re going to love this,’ she assured viewers. ‘It helps with weight loss as well, as according to this study.’

Janine posted the study in the background of her TiKTok, which was published by  the National Library of Medicine in 2018.

It claimed the consumption on of extra virgin olive oil improves body composition and blood pressure in women with excess body fat.

She recommends adding in a tablespoon of olive oil into your morning cup of coffee, quipping she ‘can’t even taste’ the unusual additive.

The gut professional’s tips left some followers dubious.

One wrote, ‘you lost me at olive oil in my coffee’ as another joked: ‘For me it’s anxiety followed by stress.’

Janine regularly urges followers to improve their toilet habits – and, in another recent clip, claimed that being ‘grounded’ and seeing early morning sunlight helps to turn all the body systems on.

‘Get grounded,’ the doctor advised. ‘Especially first thing in the morning, you’ve got to get grounded – bare feet on the earth.’

She also encourages seeing the sun in the morning, saying it helps to set circadian rhythms for the day – and ‘to signal’ that first poop in the morning.

Janine also stressed the importance of ‘going when you get the signal. Don’t suppress it.’

Other tips she shared were about undergoing a full body detox and increasing fiber intake.

‘This is something I like to do at the change of each season,’ she said, adding she uses specific herbal medicines for each detox.

‘[Fiber] helps ensure you are getting that proper movement through the digestive track,’ she explained.
