Neighbours legend Annie Jones is the fifth cast member to join the show’s farewell tour, Metro.co.uk can exclusively reveal.

The actress, who played Jane Harris in the beloved Aussie soap, will be heading to the UK in March for the highly-anticipated tour, which opens in Belfast on March 1 and will go on to tour 15 dates across the country.

Annie made a name for herself in Neighbours, debuting in 1986 – the show’s second year on air – starring opposite Guy Pearce, Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, who played Mike Young, Charlene Mitchell and Scott Robinson respectively.

Jane initially left Erinsborough in 1989.

Annie, however, would go on reprise the role for a short stint in 2005, and again in 2018, before returning to Ramsay Street on a full-time basis, staying until the credits rolled on the final ever episode.

Jane featured in many storylines across her several stints in Neighbours, including multiple memorable romances with mainstays such as Des Clarke (Paul Keane), Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) and Clive Gibbons (Geoff Paine).

It was, however, her relationship with Mike Young that kept viewers hooked to their TVs in the 1980s, and long-time fans got their wish, as the couple reunited after three decades in the soap’s last ever outing.

The last few years also saw Jane at the centre of some incredible storylines, which often featured her daughter Nicolette Stone (Charlotte Chimes), and this year, son Byron (Joe Klocek).

Speaking about taking part in Neighbours’ farewell tour, Annie said: ‘I’m super excited to be joining the Neighbours Tour. There’s so much of the UK I’ve yet to discover and I can’t wait to meet as many of our devoted and loyal fans as I possibly can.

Pop the kettle on, I’m coming over!’

Consider us ridiculously excited.

Annie will join Alan Fletcher (Karl Kennedy), Jackie Woodburne (Susan Kennedy), April Rose Pengilly (Chloe Brennan) and Ryan Moloney (Todie Rebecchi), who have all been confirmed to be taking part in the tour.

One further cast member is to be announced.

The tour will take a look back at the incredible history of one of Britain’s most-loved TV programmes.

Neighbours came to an end on Friday July 29, after 37 years on the air. UK fans, however, will have the opportunity to say ‘farewell’ in person at the tour.
