On Friday, Nina Dobrev shared a behind-the-scenes look at her “Love Hard” makeup transformation on Instagram, leaving the “Vampire Diaries” star looking so incognito that even her dog didn’t recognize her.

“You guys, today we’re doing a makeup test. We’re going to transform this face into that face,” she says before undergoing the cosmetic makeover. 

“Hey Mav. Why are you looking so weird? Is there something wrong? I don’t get it,” she asks her confused dog, Maverick, at the end of the Instagram Reel. 

The Fresh Vine Wine founder, who’s dating Olympian Shaun White, has an Instagram account for her dog Maverick, where she shares snaps of the pup. “Ur pet be like what happened to u 😭😭😭😭 girl,” a commenter joked.

The “Degrassi: The Next Generation” alum, 33, shared the throwback video from her Netflix Christmas movie with the caption “BTS from my holiday movie #LoveHard.” 

“Confused?” the stunning star asked her 26 million followers while wearing a red Roots sweatshirt. “Then you’ll have to watch it on @netflix to see why I look like this.” 

Luckily, a few of her fans spoiled the makeup moment in the comments. “I hope you’re not allergic to Kiwi in real life Neens,” one fan joked – explaining the puffy face. “The scene in the film had me laughing for ages🤣,” another person approved wholeheartedly. 

In the scene from the holiday movie (the title is a portmanteau of “Die Hard” and “Love Actually”) Dobrev, who plays Natalie, performs the song “I Would Do Anything For Love” during karaoke.

Unfortunately, Natalie is trying to woo Darren Barnet’s character Tag after unknowingly having an allergic reaction to a shot containing kiwi, causing her face to dramatically blow up.   

“You can barely tell the difference 😮,” a follower joked about the disguised actress.

Hopefully, Maverick has recovered from the Christmas confusion.
