‘You’re supposed to turn your blinds up in summer?

‘You ever notice those aluminum blinds in your house, the ones that go up or down? There is an actual reason for that,’ he said at the beginning of the video.

Then, he explained why turning them is beneficial for both you and your electricity bill.

‘During the summertime, you’re supposed to move it up… that is so that it can direct the warm light from the sun, up, causing a room to be up to eight degrees cooler,’ he explained.

The content creator even tested out the method and revealed that in the room where he turned the blinds up, his room was eight degrees cooler.

He noted that by turning his blinds, he was able to ‘drop his electric bill.’ DJ said that his bill went from $16 a day to $10.74 a day.

He captioned the video: ‘Omg, how did I not know this.’

Experts confirmed this is true because it helps direct airflow to the ceiling.
