Yesterday, Kate, Princess of Wales invited Prince William and their two eldest children to the Wimbledon Men’s Single’s Final.
Prince George had publicly attended a tennis match last summer, but this was the first time Princess Charlotte had experienced such an occasion.
The young Princess sat next to Kate, who is the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, and engaged in conversation with her and her brother throughout the nail-biting final which saw Carlos Alcaraz beat the seven-time Wimbledon winner, Novak Djokovic.
Express.co.uk spoke to body language expert Judi James, who analysed footage and photographs of the two Princesses at the tennis event.
Judi said: “Kate looked so keen to make Charlotte and George enjoy the Wimbledon experience as much as she does and her motivational skills clearly paid off as the pair threw themselves into the thrilling men’s final with signals of authentically spontaneous enthusiasm.
“Kate acted as host as she took her two children round to meet the staff and players and as she did so she took her time explaining and teaching them so that they had a full understanding of the sport.
“This technique that saw her bending and pointing as she offered instructions and education gave a glimpse of the genuine passion Kate has for the game and which she is clearly keen to pass on to her children.
“As a result, Charlotte switched roles from Princess to excited young fan as she threw herself into her support signals for Alcaraz.
“Shouting out for him to win she also threw her arms in the air with what looked like an open-mouthed roar of victory at match point.”

The expert added: “There was one extra important ‘tell’ in her body language too: while her arms were flung upward her fingers were still crossed, suggesting she’d been willing the young Spanish player to win for quite a while.
“Meeting him after the match Charlotte suddenly moved from ‘warrior’ mode to stand like any other shy fan, clapping him with her fingertips before clutching at her skirt.
“When Kate stepped away to let Alcaraz meet other friends and family, Charlotte suddenly and sweetly became extra shy. “Realising her mother had gone, she quickly ducked round behind her brother in an uncharacteristic moment of diffidence.”
