New research has found that nearly a quarter (23%) of Brits intend to stick to a vegan diet this year.
However, they're not finding it easy apparently, as they're missing out of UK staples such as bacon sarnies and a cup of tea.
The data, collected by vegan and free-from chocolate brand NOMO, found chocolate (36%) and roast chicken (32%) were the top two items vegans missed.

These were followed by sarnies (29%), cheese toasties (26%), a full fry up (25%) and toast with real butter (23%). Also making the list were burgers (21%), ice cream (20%), kebabs (14%) and garlic bread (13%).
One in five (20%) also miss a cup of tea with real milk the most, while Yorkshire puddings were on the mind of 14% of British vegans.
A whopping 63% of those now vegan said they were doing it to be healthier.
Being kinder to the planet and animals (37%) was also a reason, as was being mindful about food consumption (31%), saving money (20%), and because their partner wanted to (12%).
A total of 66% of those surveyed admit that they have attempted to eat a vegan diet previously, with Brits giving it a go an average of four times.
Nine months is the average length of time people stuck to a plant-based diet, with craving favourite foods (59%), being bored (45%) and lack of willpower (29%) the main reasons cited for giving it up.
Not knowing what to cook (40%), not finding vegan food that tastes nice (31%) and not knowing the best vegan alternatives (29%) were also reasons for breaking the diet.
A quarter (22%) said eating vegan gave them more energy and 14% said it made them feel happier.
The study was commissioned by NOMO to mark their launch of ‘Flexi-Feb’, a month-long campaign to encourage Brits to adopt vegan substitutes to help satisfy cravings to cut back on meat and dairy.
Jac Tyrrell, Brand Manager for NOMO said: “The research shows how difficult it can be to commit to a fully vegan lifestyle – but with the amazing choice of plant-based ranges available, there has never been a better time to try phasing out meat and dairy by introducing vegan substitutes.”
“Flexi-Feb is all about encouraging people to extend Veganuary whilst welcoming new people to the fold who might want to trial a vegan diet without going all the way."
