A royal bookworm! Avid reader Queen Consort Camilla looks in her element as she visits a book charity in London

The Queen Consort put on an elegant display as she visited a book charity this morning. 

Camilla, 75, traveled to Book Aid International in London, where she met staff members and learned more about their mission.

The organisation sends a wide variety of books to communities in need around the world, from children’s books to personal development reading material and textbooks. 

During her tour, Camilla was treated to a visit of their warehouse, which was filled with the books sourced by the charity before they are sent out. 

For her engagement, King Charles III’s wife was the picture of elegance in a forest green woollen pleated skirt and matching blaser with a shimmery velvet collar.

She paired the suit with a crisp white blouse and velvet black boots with a sensible heel. 

As always, Camilla kept the look simple with little jewellery, safe for a pair of dropped pearl earrings. 

Her blonde locks were styled in her trademark windswept bob, her strands of platinum hair curling up in all the right places. 

For her outing, the Queen Consort sported foundation and just a touch of bronzer. 

She also donned some mascara and eyeshadow to bring some drama to the eye and uplift her pupils. 

She completed the makeup with an understated pink nude lip. 

During her visit, she met with staff who told wore about the work that Book Aid does, and let her in on the inner workings of the organisation. 

The Queen Consort’s love for reading is well-documented, with the royal having created her own book club during the coronavirus pandemic and having championed several projects around reading for both adults and children over the years. 

During her visit, she also stamped some books and left a note addressed to the Kigali Public Library, one of the establishment stocking material from Book Aid. 

It’s been a busy week for Queen Camilla, who hosted a Buckingham Palace reception to celebrate British East and South-East Asian communities last night with King Charles. 

The King’s wife learned more about how the books’ charity operates and how it sources the material they send out to communities around the world

For her outing, the Queen Consort donned a pleated woollen skirt with a matching blaser and a white blouse, and paired them with sensible black boots 

The royal couple were joined at the lavish occasion in London by Princess Anne, 72, and Prince Edward, 58, as well as famous faces such as model Alexa Chung, 39.

They also spoke with guests including fashion designer John Rocha, the Crown Prince of Selangor, Malaysia, and the ‘Korean Englishman’ YouTubers. 

There were more than 300 people at the reception from across various sectors, including the arts, media, fashion, business, and healthcare – with champagne and canapes served throughout the evening. 

For the occasion, Camilla, 75, looked effortlessly elegant in a black frock featuring green detailing, which she teamed with an eye-catching gold necklace.

She opted for glamorous makeup, with a touch of blush and her platinum locks were styled in an impeccable blow-dry. 

Alexa, meanwhile, commanded attention in a gold dress, embellished with gems and paired with a sophisticated black blazer. 

The royal donned a natural makeup, with some foundation and blush, and a touch of mascara to bring the drama 

Her stepson’s explosive memoirs, Spare, was not among the books on show in the charity’s warehouse

The Queen Consort expertly stamped the books during her visit. The book will be sent to libraries and other establishments around the world 

Camilla left a note sending her warmest wishes to the Kigali Public Library, which she visited last year during a trip to Rwanda

The model, who attended alongside her brother Dominic Chung, let her stunning outfit do most the talking – adding only a simple silver hair clip to her ensemble.

Alexa, whose father is three-quarters Chinese, was all smiles when shaking hands with the Queen Consort at the event.

Elsewhere, a beaming Charles, wearing a royal blue suit and matching check tie with a crisp white shirt, greeted his guests.

Princess Anne and her youngest brother Prince Edward also attended the event. 

Other members of the Royal Family also joined the event such as the Duke of Kent, the Duchess of Gloucester and Princess Alexandra.

Guests gathered in the White Drawing Room, Blue Drawing Room and Picture Gallery to greet their royal hosts.
