Emmerdale viewers have been glued to their screens during Meena Jutla, played by Paige Sandhu’s, evil killing sprees.
Meena’s victims have included Nadine Butler, Leanna Cavanagh, Andrea Tate and Ben Tucker, with many more surviving her reign of terror.
With Meena’s fate set to be revealed as she takes the stand during her trial, what do we know about the actress behind the evil character, Paige Sandhu?
As Meena’s trial for the multiple murders she committed is about to take place, we take a look at Paige's life off screen…
Paige, 25, joined the ITV soap back in September 2020 and her journey into acting hasn’t been easy.
The soap star candidly opened up on facing a difficult anxiety battle after struggling to find work.
Paige told The Mirror: “When I left drama school I was a very anxious person. I wasn’t getting any jobs and I was struggling. The anxiety took the form of insomnia. Life was hard and a struggle."
Paige added that during her most difficult points she used a type of therapy called the Emotional Freedom Technique. This is where tapping pressure points on the head and face creates a balance in the body’s energy system and eases emotional distress.
"I read a couple of books on it and found it really helpful,” Paige explained. “I’d tap on the train or bus on the way to auditions. People would give me the weirdest looks.”
Paige has confirmed that she’s in a relationship off screen.
The actress explained that she keeps her romance away from the public and has chosen not to feature her partner on social media.
“I have got a long-term partner, but I’m not going to talk about him because I just want to protect our relationship. Sorry about that!,” she told The Sun.
In February 2022 Paige confirmed that her character Meena will meet a dramatic end on the soap and that she would be leaving Emmerdale after two years on the show.
Speaking on ITV’s This Morning, she said: ”This is the beginning of the end for Meena but there's more drama to come!”
Paige also teased the “incredible ending” for Meena.
She added that Meena going to prison would be a “fitting end” to the character, adding: "I always thought that Meena’s storyline was going to have to come to an end at some point, because you just can’t let a villain as bad as Meena just carry on.
“There would be no-one left in the village, so her storyline has to come to an end at some point."
