Sarah Ferguson and Lisa Marie Presleys friendship as she shares heartbreak over death of sissy

Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, has added to the tributes pouring in for the late Lisa Marie Presley, who passed away on Thursday (January 12) at the age of 54.

Fergie, 64, posted a tribute to her late friend, sharing a photo of the pair together to a number of her social media accounts.

Captioning the sweet photo, she wrote: "I say hello to you everyday and I love you my sissy and I will continue to say hello to you everyday.

"You were my sissy, an amazing mother to Ben, Riley, Harper and Finley and a superbly loving daughter to Priscilla. You have been my devoted friend for many years and I am here for your family to support and love them. I am deeply saddened my sissy, you are in my heart."

Fergie had previously shared the same photo to share her support of her friend, after Lisa Marie's son, Benjamin Keough, died by suicide in 2020.

At the time she wrote: "You stayed with me in my darkest moment and I am here in Yours .. love you my sister Lisa Marie .. wherever, whatever I am with you, in all steadfastness.

"Dearest Lisa Marie, Finley, Harper and Riley. You have a family here and I love my sissy .. love you to your heart and will never stop loving my sissy."

Lisa Marie and Sarah reportedly became friends when they met in the US in 2009.

Lisa Marie attended Fergie's 50th birthday party at London's Lanesborough Hotel in the same year.

The late star also stayed at Sarah's villa in Marbella to privately grieve the death of her ex-husband Michael Jackson.

Lisa Marie's mother, Priscilla, sadly confirmed her daughter's death from cardiac arrest in the early hours of Friday morning, as she released a heartfelt statement.

The statement read: "It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.

"She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss," Priscilla continued. "Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment."

Lisa Marie was the only child of legendary icon Elvis Presley and his wife of six years, Priscilla. The couple were in a relationship for 13 year and married from 1967 to 1973.

Singer, Lisa Marie, was married four times, first to musician Danny Keough, with whom she shared actress daughter Riley Keough, 33, and late son Benjamin.

She then wed singer Michael Jackson, actor Nicolas Cage, and music producer Michael Lockwood, with whom she shared 14-year-old twin daughters Harper and Finley.
