Holly Willoughby is known for always having the perfect textured beachy waves when presenting This Morning. Now, the stylist behind her signature look has revealed exactly what products are used to achieve the presenter’s look.
The natural, wavy style is perfect for the upcoming warmer months, and Holly’s hairstylist Ciler Peksah has shared her tried and tested tips and tricks to achieve the perfect effortless waves, so you can recreate Holly’s glossy locks at home.
The four must-have items to recreate Holly’s golden waves are all readily available online and every single item costs less than £35, so you can copy her look without breaking the bank.
For Ciler, the most important first step is to allow your hair to air dry naturally before you start styling it. Air drying helps to create natural volume and texture, both of which are key to helping achieve the perfect waves with tongs.
Ciler recommends using Gisou Honey Infused Leave-in Conditioner, £26 here, on damp hair to help protect it from heat damage and breakage, as well as hydrate, smooth and detangle your hair and prepare it for styling. Ciler said: “I’d advise starting with a small spritz so as not to leave it looking greasy. Once the hair is dry, I would blow-dry the hair line, so it’s smooth and tuck one side behind the ear” to achieve Holly’s signature look.
Once your hair has completely dried, it’s time to create those waves. Ciler uses the Hot Tools Pro Signature Curling Iron with a 32mm barrel, £31.22 here, to create a short, voluminous wave, and has shared a video on how to achieve the waves on her Instagram.
These tongs are ideal thanks to the gold-plated barrel, which means the tongs provide longer lasting results, and it maintains a consistent heat for a perfect curl every time. Once you’ve created your voluminous waves, a texture spray is key to stopping the hair from looking too ‘perfect’.
Ciler uses the Morrocanoil Dry Texture Spray, £18.45 here, on Holly’s fresh waves, as it helps to add body and bounce to the style. The texture spray is lightweight and non-greasy and creates an effortlessly undone texture and movement, as well as offering long-lasting hold.
The Morrocanoil spray is also a perfect tool to have in your hair styling kit, as it can be used to prepare hair and create grip for more intricate styles such as braids or up-dos. You simply need to spray it onto dry hair, then style it however you like.
To finish off Holly’s look and make sure it stays in place all day long, Ciler uses L'Oréal Professionnel Infinium Extra Strong Hold Hairspray, £4.99 here. The hairspray helps to smooth away any fly-aways and keep Holly’s waves looking as fresh at the end of This Morning as they do at the start.
And there you have it – easy beachy waves that Holly would be proud of in just four easy steps.
