- The student, from Swindon, claims the dye stained her arms and sheets blue
- She only realised when she woke up in the morning that her sheets were ruined
A PrettyLittleThing shopper was left shocked after a top she bought for £8 stained her arms blue and ruined her satin bed sheets.
Charlotte Cross, 23, from Swindon, had bought the velvet crop top for a night out with friends when she was caught in the rain and her outfit was soaked.
But the graphic design student woke up the following morning to discover the black dye had rubbed off on her body and left marks on her sheets – despite her taking the top off before she went to bed.

Her pristine white satin sheets were left blue from the dye which had transferred all over her pillows and duvet.
Charlotte says she ‘got what she paid for’ with the top after posting photos on Twitter of her white satin sheets discoloured.
She was forced to shower and wash her sheets to rid the stains after wearing the top just once for the first time.
She told FEMAIL: ‘I went out on Saturday night in the top for the first time and got caught in the rain.
‘I took the top off but it had all transferred onto my skin and then onto my sheets’.
‘I didn’t notice anything until the next morning when I woke up and my sheets were blue. My arms were a bit blue in the morning as well but luckily it showered off fine.’

Fortunately Charlotte was able to see the funny side and says she found the whole thing ‘hilarious’.
‘If anything I found it all a bit funny, it was only £8 so I think I got what I paid for if I’m honest,’ she said.
‘PrettyLittleThing customer service were actually really good about it and issued a full refund and it wouldn’t stop me shopping there to be honest.

‘I didn’t even think they’d see it when I posted it on twitter I’ve just found the whole thing hilarious,’ she added.
The student took to social media to shares photos of her damaged bed sheets.
She wrote: ‘Don’t wear a prettylittlething black top if it starts raining or this might happen’.
PrettyLittleThing has responded to Charlotte’s tweet and have offered her a full refund.
