Shoppers explain how to nab the best TK Maxx deals by understanding this code system

There’s nothing better than getting your hands on a great bargain, especially when you manage to find something with an even bigger discount than usual.

TK Maxx has long been one of the best places to find a deal, particularly when it comes to discovering designer items that would usually come with a hefty price tag.

The items usually have a tag that not only tells you the price of the item in store, but also what its original RRP was to show you just how much of a bargain you’re getting. Now, one TikToker has revealed how you can find even better bargains, as well as letting you know whether it was ever really sold at the RRP that the label claims it was.

According to Alex Pavlova, who created the TikTok on her account @beautyforeverybody, there are three main codes you should look out for, and these hidden codes will tell you whether what you’re getting is as much of a deal as it claims you are.

The codes are found at the top right of the white label that appears on all of TK Maxx’s items and appears as a single digit separate from the rest of the information.

According to those in the know, the best code to look out for on the labels is two. This means the item is genuine stock from big name brands and designers which has been given to TK Maxx when it went unsold.

This can be for plenty of reasons, but the most common is that it was excess stock left over when the brand decided to release new items and wanted to clear space, or if too many items were ordered. The two lets shoppers know that what they’re getting was once sold at the RRP mentioned on the label, so they know they’re getting a fantastic deal.

The other code to look out for is seven, as this means products that were packed away from a previous year and have now been placed back on the shop floor. This means you’re usually getting an even bigger discount on the item.

Finally, if you find an item with one marked in the corner, it means the item was produced by the brand specifically for TK Maxx. Although this does mean the item was probably never actually sold at the brand’s store, it still means you’re getting good value for money, so you can still consider it a win when you find something you love.

Part of the excitement of shopping at the discount retailer is finding a hidden gem, and now we know what to look out for we’ll be rummaging around the rails ASAP.
