If you’re on beauty TikTok, then chances are you’re already familiar with the glowy and youthful flush given by Rare Beauty’s Soft Pinch Liquid Blush.
Available in 11 shades for £19 here, the fluid blusher from Selena Gomez’s makeup range has taken the video-sharing app by storm, as fans gushed over the super pigmented and easily blendable formulas that suit a wide range of skin tones.
But some like to spend as little as possible on their beauty products, and so news of a more affordable alternative has also quickly been spreading on the app. According to one viral TikTok, Revolution Blush Bomb Cream Blusher, £6 here, is a good affordable “dupe” of Soft Pinch.
In response to a follower question asking for an alternative recommendation for the Rare Beauty blush, TikToker @rachellldaguanno compared the two respective makeup buys in the similar shades Rare Beauty’s Encourage and Revolution’s Rose Lust.
While she explained to viewers that Revolution’s offering is “way more sheer” but “so pretty”, and that Rare’s blended further, her ultimate conclusion was: "The finish is the same, the dewiness, the colour, I think it's a dupe guys, I really do."
The comparison got mixed reviews from fans. While some were super excited at the thought of shopping a potential Rare Beauty alternative for less than a third of the price, many viewers weren’t convinced that the more sheer formula would quite live up to Rare’s blushing prowess.
"The colours are alike but it's still not as good as Rare Beauty," one commented, while a second user countered, "I kinda like the more sheer one”. Clearly it’s all just down to personal preference, so the only way to find out which is better for you is to try both!
In other potential beauty dupe news, a £3 Primark mascara also recently went viral on social media as fans claimed it was a more affordable version of Benefit They’re Real!.
An Instagram Reel posted to the Dupeshop account claimed that Billion Dollar Lashes is a good alternative for those on the hunt for a cheaper lash enhancer, with a model later comparing the results in the video.
The clip then goes on to offer thrifty shoppers further Primark “dupes”, including for high end foundations, bronzers and beauty sponges – causing several keen shoppers to comment on the post to express their excitement.
